$16 an hour, starting, to be a test analyst for WoW

I was referring to a different whack job in the thread.

Sorry bud, but you aren’t the protag.

Not even close. They constantly rail against the freedom of speech and gun rights. Along with taking away the ability for parents to have any parental rights. Instead of assuming people are all just eating up propaganda you should do some independent research on rules and laws. And yes this is state-wide cause Gavin Newsom is the largest authoritarian in the country.

There are certain “forum goers” who will tell their discord to come report bomb these comments, so please watch yourselves.

It’s tough times everywhere in the western world, don’t cop a ban by making it a competition who has it worse in these gods-forsaken forums.

The commercial is exactly as described. Paid for by Newsom. And no in any abortion law, the ones punished for abortion are never the mother. it’s always the doctors doing a procedure they aren’t supposed to. But this was specifically for Alabama and aired in Alabama.

I am able to legally arm myself and speak out against the government in CA. No idea what you are referring to.

Should a parent have a legal right to starve their child? Parental rights arn’t as simple as you want to make it out to be.

I’ve never seen anyone say this unironically that didn’t turn out to be the most ignorant on any topic involving politics.

Guaranteed these positions will be data mined for their AI model to use in automation testing. That’s why they’re paying so low.

Taking a look (just typing as it plays). (Since I’m in the younger generation, I assume it’s targeted at me.)

The ad, it’s definitely sensationalized. (This is also why I stay away from cable TV and have so many adblockers.) I don’t like the ad itself. I genuinely think this type of media gets worse year by year, and it’s desensitizing us to real events of tragedy.

However, I’m also vehemently against abortion bans. And if my representatives were extraditing women for seeking or receiving them, I’d not vote for them. There are plenty of medical reasons to seek treatment. Virtually no one how gets this treatment at a late stage is doing so “because they changed they mind”, it’s always a tragedy when a mother makes that decision.

By all means, if my opinion is the minority, so be it. Nothing wrong with having a different opinion, I just don’t believe in government stepping into my personal life. (As someone in CA, I also am against more gun control. A2 is fine by me. Just take it to a range and have fun. COC for pistols is fine too. Good owners shouldnt be punished, but reasonmably speaking, there’s no need to walk around a parking lot with a shotgun.)

  • I also don’t care for pronouns, but don’t mind them. I don’t use them. Had a manger who was trans, wanted to be called “she”. They were great. Good person, just a sad past.

  1. Newsom is leading the charge in restricting access to firearms. He has had by himself alone at least 4 laws smacked down by the Supreme Court. The latest 2 attempts not sure if they got smacked down yet. Was adding a huge tax to ammo sold in CA. Making it impossible to be reasonably able to shoot ammo without going bankrupt. And he also called for a 28th amendment. According to him, it targets assault rifles, but the definition he and the left use would open the discussion to most if it ever passed. If it was up to Newsom only his guards would have weapons. Just because you have them now doesn’t mean he’s not against them. It’s like how New York had a law that licensing made it impossible to have even a handgun. But theoretically, it was possible. The Supreme eventually smacked it down cause it made it basically impossible to exercise a right granted by the constitution. He’s also was supporting the NM governor when she unconstitutionally implemented a policy that effectively banned all guns from anywhere in public. Making it impossible to do anything. Luckily for that one all the sheriff and police cheifs said ya we aren’t enforcing that one.

  2. You went to an extreme case of parental abuse and no the parental rights are for very important reasons. Yes children need to be protected. But that’s not the type of parental rights he’s taking away.

  3. I mean if I seem ignorant to you. It’s proof you should take that statement to heart.

  1. I agree with the assessment of the ad.

  2. While I disagree I’m not going to get to far into the issues with the legal killing of babies on the WoW forums.

  3. There also shouldn’t be anything against doing that either unless you are actively using it in a way that is illegal. Constituationally.

but I digress we are getting pretty off topic. I’m unlikely to reply to anything from this point that isn’t back about the initial topic

  1. Yep, totally fair. It’s “Red and Blue and others” to me – not “Red vs. Blue vs. Others”
  2. Happy to disagree if you feel differently. Compromising our differences is what drives our great country forward.
  3. For me, it’s more of a threatening posture. Sounds silly, but I see “wielding a machete” and “armed with a shotgun” as equally threatening. But a concealed firearm is something I see as defensive. We do have a grey area in our laws where I’m allowed to defend myself if I feel threatened by you, but you’re still allowed to open-carry large firearms. (In short, I’m a fan of culture surrounding guns, though I own none myself – people who are enthusiastic about their hobbies are great people to be around. But there’s no reason to carry a large weapon on a walk to the grocery store.)

And yes, we can get back on topic. I wanted to show that CA isn’t a deep blue state. Not all of us are hippies, though we might agree with some things those hippies say.

That’s fine. Many people hold your view.
The whole idea with banning abortion is to just keep kids in this world as additional money batteries going through the system. I’m against it to, but there are more important things for me to vote on that actually affect my life directly.
If someone wants an abortion, which is a big decision, they can give puppy dog eyes to some guy friend to drive them out of state for free, maybe pay for gas.
The ad is disgusting and a misrepresentation of reality whether we agree with abortion or not.
Abortion isn’t even the subject. It’s kinda like
Nobody: *crickets *
Gavin Newsome: *pretends alabama is arresting pregnant women to shift focus away from the modern dystopia that is California *

Tying this back to the thread at large, I cannot afford a child in CA with those posted wages. LOL. (I say LOL, but it’s more of an acceptance of defeat.)

Same thing is going on where I live in Ontario, Canada.
We are over-educated, underpaid, and positions are being filled by certain folks from overseas so our Prime Minister can accept boat loads of foreign money.
This is lining his pockets and keeping wages low in all industries except, of course, the trades.

We are incurring a housing and, uh, “inflation” crisis right now because of it.

Blizz is it’s own beast, though, as with any business monolith that sells feelings, many talented folks would work for free under that banner just to say they did. See: blizz employees living out of cars.

It’s unskilled position and it’s testing not coding not writing . Basically you know when you get in beta and you play the game and everyone assumes you provide feedback on bugs and how you like or dislike features?

That’s this job except they pay you.

That’s all it is . So why should it pay a lot?

And (I’m east coast btw) didn’t California just make $20 their minimum wage? So this job will get a bump in pay.

This also happens when you work at places with “prestige” in a certain industry. Google and Microsoft tend to be the same for tech/IT and software. The same thing happens in law firms and hospitals. Working somewhere with name recognition makes it easier to break out and do your own thing after you have the capital and idea or ability or built up your own name while being there. So many people take less advantageous deals or pay cuts.

hence all the big blizzard employees who leave to make their own games.

I think get way many Canadians dislike this discount Trudeau. (There’s two of them right? Senior was well-liked?)

Wanna hear something funny?

Blizzard offered up the Austin offices as a place to work for CA residents. Once the RTO order was called, they stopped offering relocation assistance. They had 30 days to get in, or get fired. (This is after 2 years of postponing RTO every 3-6 months).

(During this time, they probably lost like 10% of their senior developers. “Not remote? Okay, see ya.”)

To keep it in tech, I have intimate knowledge and connections within the CRTC, Competition Board, Bell, Rogers and Telus- mostly because they shuffle board members around to ensure the conglomerate. Soon, I will be able to do my own thing. Soon™.

I’ve noticed with America or western society we aren’t proactive at all. It’s always wait until the problem balloons out of control before we do anything

3 things make America move:

  1. Oil prices will be impacted.
  2. Someone touched our boats.
  3. Someone wants to buy our bombs.

1.) The US can be wholly independent with just our own oil fields, but it’s better for everyone to sell their supply while we retain ours. (Finite resources be like that.) We want to buy cheap oil, and eventually sell it at a premium. But it’s also good for war, we can produce A LOT more than any single country if we wanted, and our military logistics are god-tier.

2.) Don’t touch our boats.

3.) The military industry complex funds our leadership in technology. We can sell our surplus of common or outdated weapons to other countries in exchange for their natural resources. This also means we don’t spent money maintaining some volume of this surplus.

Sadly, everything else doesn’t matter til the Asteroid is on the horizon. Largely political theater. Hence why local politics are more important to the average person.

Edit: Side note, the US should invest more in the DOE for experimental fusion labs. Bring those jobs and brilliant scientists to our soil. Energy-positive fusion was reached a couple years ago, and powering our electric grid with it in some 20-50 years will be extremely important. Plus the stigma in nuclear energy needs to be overcome. It’s not just for climate change reasons, energy needs will only increase.
