I agree. We just all ignore the desert near Fresno. There’s a railroad and some rest spots before you hit the grapevine. It doesn’t exist otherwise.
I value my dog-walker and tip well. No issue paying for a high value service.
I just get stuck on multi-hour Zoom marathons doing work strategery.
Or they don’t want another employers bad habits… training someone from scratch the way you want them trained to my boss has always been an advantage.
Aw, not nice. Why ignore all the yokels coming down 395 from Reno to stink up the place with their cheap booze and cigarettes, they make the desert great right? Coming from one and passing into the other to invade SoCal… lol (no, not projecting here.)
I went back at 27 for machine tool technology (learn how to be a machinist), and also got the advanced diploma for CNC programming. I had a job offer before graduation making a fair bit more than I was making prior.
If you can swing it I say go for it!
Fresno is where dreams go because the highway forces us there. No one willingly goes to Fresno unless they need gasoline and couldn’t make it to the In N Out before the mountains. (speaking from experience, lol)
I hear you. My wife and I don’t mess around with skimping on the doggos. They are our children in a way.
They always appreciate us, and we don’t have to send them to an absurdly expensive school, with no tangible gains.
Also, no kids means I can waste time on game forums.
Yeah, its my pit stop when I have to visit studios in Santa Monica and City of Industry for contract/freelance work occasionally lol.
For me, I’m thinking I take as many exams and get an AS through previous work experience. Then, of all things, get into electrical engineering. Then use that career to fuel my hobbies of creative writing and game design, and eventually get back into that once electrical engineering runs its course.
I’d HEARD, but I have no idea how accurate it is, that it also cuts down on sound for all the people who move right next to a major airport and then complain that it’s noisy.
Usually, whenever i need to travel, its far enough that i can justify the airport. But im usually flying out of SNA to SFO.
I can just imagine that the rich folks in the hills have put up enough stink to have them fly over Crenshaw and places like that.
Oddly enough, cheaper by car (roughly by $200-300) going 395 to the 14 (oops the spouse just told me sometimes to the 15 and on the riverside heading west) and then to the 10. Course up here flights are stupid going out of, such a small airport that acts like it is the Atlanta Terminal is unnecessary. Flights coming in are super easy and efficient though lol.
Here is Australia. Reading this post is just insanity to me. You guys pays for education, healthcare, don’t have guaranteed retirement funds, pay for water, have such abysmal minimal hourly rates and the price of housing is ridiculous. Are you guys ok over there?
This is a good point. Takeoff is still loud. But flying over at 6000ft vs. 12,000ft makes a huge difference.
Was it not Texas and California that decided to start a civil war with the rest of the US in that one movie?
well we dont have Dingos eating our babies … so theres that…
No.
The answer is no.
It’s a hybrid schedule of 3/2 Office/WFH. (maybe 3 days WFH, it depends on your team)
You will need to relocate to the Irvine/OC area.
Full remote is almost never offered. (Basically, unless you report to Holly Longdale, its not an option). (Source: Friends with current employees. I’ve asked before. They were told to come to CA or get fired – essentially. And yes, some people were fired. “Some” could be as many as 10% after RTO was ordered.) :: (You have 30 days to get here. You don’t show up to the office by this time? Yeet.)
And yes. You can do the work fully remote. As literally everyone did for Shadowlands. They just need to justify their 10 year lease with the city of Irvine for their buildings. (Which I believe was renewed during COVID…after they proved they could work 100% remotely.)
