15 second death penalty is a pug killer

Why punish players who play slow and safe?

i think 2 pulls(maybe 3 on full cds or lust) with chaining when mobs are nearly dead is the best way to go.

grim batol is still shid tho

That seems to be what the vast majority of players want if I read the forums. My personal preference is lenient timers with no death penalty, death itself should be the penalty as you lose time getting back and wasted cooldowns.

Bro, you don’t pug, you just sit on the forums and pretend to pug so that you can defend this terrible season for some reason.

The fact that you responded to this before I even finished reading the tread is both hilarious and sort of proves my points.

You replied with one sentence, I got a notification. That takes what? ten seconds? Give 20 to write the reply I guess.

64 posts, how many alts to bypass ignores?

If you timed the run after that many deaths, then you are over geared for that content. Generally people leave after 7-10 deaths as the key is done and can’t be timed.

This season Blizzard has intentionally put a wall on Myth track gear.

Same old tactics it seems on making content “artificially” harder in the first few weeks then tuning it back as time goes on. By the time people out gear they will be so discouraged to even play in pugs and you now have people who have moved on to another game not different content within your own game.

At the end of the day you can keep people entertained for a set amount of time, likely 2 months, and gearing for 60% of the wow population through relevant content should be tuned accordingly from the start, not 6 weeks in to that content. Only content that seems reasonable are raids so far. Delves at 8 as a Pally were a good challenge but I’m sure other classes had a hard time. M+ as a pally tank has been my worst experience ever! Been tanking since Vanilla and just didn’t feel like putting myself through M+ this season, but Ret. is sooo good right now vs. Prot. it also didn’t make sense tanking.

Pugs are harder to get into as DPS because people are scrutinzing far more, there is no margin given for mistakes and it does create toxicity. Ever have anyone complain about the 6 deaths once you time a key? Def. no, but 7+ deaths and you start hearing it from people cause they know the key can’t be timed.

At this point given the wall thats up, I too feel like 9-10 are 2 more weeks out and feel this is an artificial wall put up by Blizzard. They will continue to tune after looking at failure statistics as they generally do.

The above average heroic raid player should be allowed 1 mythic loot per week but the above average mythic player should get far more than that through mythic raids. The idea that Mythic track loot was attainable by a larger set of above average heroic raiders was the right philosophy but this season they back tracked on this. Its possible it wasn’t completely intentional due to tuning but the sweet spot was missed. Far too many changes went in this season for M+ to get that tuning right. People are learning new affixes as well. Eventually they will learn but at the same time a very large chuck of player base will lose interest and not engage in content. The purpose should be to keep that audience entertained at just the right pace so you squeeze that 2 more weeks from them and maybe that is 1 more month of sub.

Definitely not overgeared since I was still half equipped in M0 gear.

This has also not been my experience. Most groups have finished the run with a depleted timer. It depends on how far in the deaths/wipes happen.

It’s a M+ killer. I have no idea why it hasn’t been changed already.

Same here. Last expac it was common for groups to disband amicably if the timer was shot (I’m talking above 20s) - this one, I’ve seen a lot more people want to complete. I’m presuming because there are still items folks are farming?

I did leave my own 8 NW today after getting to 2nd boss with 13 left minutes on the timer. Wasn’t gonna happen.

I can tell you that the 15 2nd death penalty would not be a problem. If the timer wasn’t tight. One of the issues that can completely skew perception of the problem is the level of key that you’re doing.

Currently, whenever I run my own key, it usually bounces, Whatever plus 11I have after a single wipe or even 3 deaths.
The group will instantly disband even if we are making good time.Because everyone wants to time the elevent.

Then when I run the plus ten, it’s kind of like 40% chance Because some people are trying to get there timed 10 and some still need for vault.

Then itll go down to 9, get 2 chested back up to 11 rinse and repeat.

The rate in which 10s and 11s deplete, The toxicity increases massively.
When it comes to leavers.

it was only 5s per death, now it’s 15s per death, literally 3x penalty increased.

I was being sarcastic to the person above me who said the 15s death timer ‘isnt an affix if you don’t die’. gotta read the entire thread, not just an individual post in a vacuum

Bro, not all people have friends who has normaly 2.6k-3.3k IO in previous seasons, doing a premade is a joke until you reach some dungeons at 9-10 keys, people mostly play just a few hours, because they have a life (jobs, family, friends irl, etc)…

The best turning was in DF S3 (not easy nor hard) because was more balanced, now you have some unnecesary changes like NW in 3rd boss, 15sec penalty for death, some dungeons turbo turned, spaming +7 keys to get hero loot and from the vault (the most awful nerf), get gilded crests from +9 (???).

If I want a challenge, rather to do something was like Tower Mage from Legion, Visions from BFA because there is a nice reward: skins for artifact weapons (now tier sets with recolor from mythic from ToS), a nicely title… not to do as minimum +10 for get KSH, because they force you to do +10 so you get the dungeon portals (is a poor reward, lets be honest), then KSH is not worty to get.

I am a casual player, I was a tryhard in BFA (mythic raider in Ny’alotha tier) and that wasnt even close to be hard like a pug a dungeon +8 in this season.

If you like this turning, then you’re a sado or just you never played in pugs and has the luxury to get friends/guild mates for doing +9 or +10, or the most shameful way to get IO: buying carry for gold.

DF S3 was a joke.

To you it was a joke, to other people it was the perfect difficulty, and to yet others it was too hard. The question is who they should be balancing around and I think they went too far in the other direction this time around.

For veterans and premades is a joke, but for newbies or the most chilling casuals? For them was hard, the player base in wow is hard-casual and chill-casual, not the elite or tryhard players. Now with those changes, even worse with the 30% nerf to healers, people are leaving, this season is the most awful in m+, I never saw a lot of keystones burned like this.
