I wouldn't have any problem paying $15 a month for Classic.

I refuse to pay $15 a month for the current retail game and since I have to pay for the current retail game in order to play Classic, I won't be playing Classic.

Lol dude what's the difference?
Farm gold on new wow, buy wow token with gold for classic wow subscription. EZ

To people who say "bye you won't be missed" You should treat one another with respect and listen to legit concerns rather than try to be rude. Otherwise you will be playing on low pop servers that can't progress.

"Legit" concern being the key word. The way I look at it, this is a risk by Blizzard. They have no idea what the longevity of WoW Classic is going to be, so they have to recoup money spent rebuilding these servers.

For all people talk about how much they'll play and they'll play long-term, I remember when the intent behind Runescape Classic was to never update it. Then people got bored. Now it gets its own update structure.

$15 is two hours of work of a minimum wage job for a month of playtime. I don't accept that complaining that the game's not free or nearly-free is a "legit" concern

It'll be good practice for Classic since it's 90% grinding the same content over and over.
If I only had to $15 a month that's fine, but having to buy a game I don't want to play and then another one cause remember another wow will come out before Classic is done. And so on if the make a BC server.

I have no problem paying $15 a month if the game was actually Classic instead of Remastered/Modernized.

This is a slight point of contention with me.
I feel it should at least be a separate sub fee. I guess in the end it doesn't matter, but 15 a month for the same static world?
Mmmmmm, I might just play on Lights Hope.
Before Classic announcement:
Please Blizzard, we won't ask for anything; we just want Vanilla. I'd pay 20$ / month just to play Vanilla

After Classic announcement:
WE WANT THIS. WE DON'T WANT THIS. AINT PAYING FOR THIS. WHY WONT YOU LISTEN TO ME?!

Was the sub price officially announced?

...

K bye.

I bet you have given blizzard at least $2,500 for WoW alone.

It's a safe bet that you have.

Is this real?

I'm not paying $180 a year for ANY game, let alone a almost 15 year old game that doesn't get content updates.

This is a bad move by blizzard, and it will definitely effect the amount of people playing classic.

They should have cut the sub price in half at the least.

If I was planning on playing for 5 years, that is $900.

let that sink into your head for a second...$900 to play a 14+ year old game for 5 years.

You could buy 60 games at $15 each for that amount of money, there is no way classic is worth that much.

You have to be some kind of wow addict if you think this is a fair price.

I agree with you but there are retail trolls swarming and gloating in here, as evidenced by the first response and the upvotes it has gotten.
I'm extremely happy, I thought I'd have to pay an ADDITIONAL sub not just get it as a bonus with regular sub.

The irony of this post is staggering and the poster is completely oblivious to it.
I mean, if it lets me poke my nose in on occasion, it's not terrible. I'm just a little annoyed there's no downgraded option. Oh well, at least some people from live will try Classic.

I dont have a problem with a $15 sub, sure I would like to pay less but its really not that bad and consider that it sounds like Blizzard isnt going to charge for the game beyond the sub fee.
Get a job lmao, even on federal minimum wage it's only 2 hours a month of work. Abloobloobloo it's not free
I don't disagree with where you're going with this, but are you going to guarantee that they won't lose money because people switched from current WoW to classic?

What if they had to let people go because of this? Seems that this is the only way to guarantee that doesn't happen.

Once per year, That's a free console system though. In ten years, that's an ounce of gold. Cost is relative, regardless of level of wealth. Some of the more wealthy from the village can be some of the biggest penny-pinchers.

Bottom line is you can't say that it's an inconsequential value because the value of money is subjective, regardless of class.

A valid point could possibly be: "why must I pay the same price as current WoW when it's expected to have no updates?"

Is that not valid?
