To people who say "bye you won't be missed" You should treat one another with respect and listen to legit concerns rather than try to be rude. Otherwise you will be playing on low pop servers that can't progress.
Legit concerns include sharding. This is not a legit concern. Even in the extremely rare and unlikely scenario the servers will be low population because of this very reasonable pricing (spoilers: they won't be), I would prefer low pop servers with quality players than having the entitled F2P crowd.

I dont want to pay 15 a month for retail, id rather force people who play retail to pay 30 bucks a month instead.
That is so idiotic, did you even read the op?
I, like him, believe people who currently own retail wow should get classic additionally for their subscription, free. What he is asking for is an option which allows us to pay, say $8 a month, for classic alone. A game that has old content and which won't receive any support anyway. We're basically paying for more development to be focused on retail WoW despite us not having intentions in playing it.

Ok, so I'm just now catching up on all the new info coming out of BlizCon. Will someone please explain this to me? If I am currently paying my $15 sub fee, will I have to pay an additional $15 per month to play Classic or no? & how much is the game going to cost when it goes live? Will I have to purchase the game a second time? Thanks!
You pay $15/m for âworld of warcraftâ which will include âwow liveâ and âwow classicâ
Ok thanks so much! So, if I am currently paying my $15 per month, I do NOT have to purchase Classic wow a second time or pay an additional monthly fee. Correct? Just want to make double sure I understand. lol
If I have two accounts linked to one battle tag, will both accounts be able to play Classic provided their monthly fee is paid?

Yup, from all indications, you just add gametime, download the classic client and rock on from there.

That maybe a question for the CS people to answer.
want a free experience, then play on a private server. I like the idea of paying because I'm not a child and $15 is worthless to me

From what I gather here, it'll be "Pay for World of Warcraft", and "Classic" will be a server type of the "World of Warcraft" title.
Which is as it should be.
I live in the states and play on US servers. I have friends back in Ukraine/Russia/Lithuania who would love to play classic. I would gladly join them, but due to unfavorable currency exchange they won't be able to afford $15 a month. They really don't care about BFA. Would it be possible to have an option when you pay $15 to split it into 2 months of classic? $7.50 a month is very justifiable for vanilla game that will be stuck at ones final patch is released. Let the people who pay for current retail have it for free, while others who want to just play classic pay $7.50:/

I donÂŽt understand people.
Vanilla will be pretty much free, most people have a retail sub anyways. I find this solution a lot better than if they would ask us to pay 40 bucks + 15 each month.

Is this real?
I'm not paying $180 a year for ANY game, let alone a almost 15 year old game that doesn't get content updates.
This is a bad move by blizzard, and it will definitely effect the amount of people playing classic.
They should have cut the sub price in half at the least.
If I was planning on playing for 5 years, that is $900.
let that sink into your head for a second...$900 to play a 14+ year old game for 5 years.
You could buy 60 games at $15 each for that amount of money, there is no way classic is worth that much.
You have to be some kind of wow addict if you think this is a fair price.
lol seeya :) money well spent IMO...
I don't understand. You already pay 15/month to play now? (Or 13 if you're me)
My time is worth a lot more than it takes to farm gold for a token. Unless I can farm a token's worth of gold in less than 5 minutes.

They play on private servers so theyâre used to not paying anything. Thatâs why they want to eliminate the monthly sub or get down to as little as possible.
This is actually kind of a deal breaker for me.
You would think the objective would be to spark curiosity for the modern version.
Nope.
Blizzard doesn't know what they have here. They could make realms for specific expacs and charge accordingly.
2.50 a month for Vanilla
+
2.50 for Burning crusade
+ wrath and so on.
I'm not paying for Vanilla again. I paid my dues with that. Above and beyond for that matter. When I played during vanilla, I brought friends with me.
Not doing that again.
Let alone a bastard version of it.
Sharding? Really?
I left the game for the constant changes. Blizzard doesn't add, they alter.
Sure there are those that say $15.00 a month isn't anything.
No not really. But we live in a different time.
Netflix+Hulu+HBO+....you get the point.
Its a shame really. I have been watching vanilla videos getting hyped.
Private servers, no matter how often they get shut down, are worth the price of free.
I agree with OP. $15/Mo. is steep for a 15 year old game with no continuing content updates or weekly changes/fixes. Wasn't that why we paid $15 a month for retail (even back then)? If they can keep the servers up for their other games without a monthly cost to their consumers, why not classic? In my humble opinion, I would have liked to see an outright payment for the game and be done with costs.
Unfortunately, I'm going to pass on classic :/ so bummed.. to everyone else who is going to play anyway, I'm envious (just a little ;)) ENJOY!
So let me get this straight. You are 120 and can post here, so you have been playing current WoW anyway, but when WoW Classic comes out for $0 more than you are already paying, you won't play it?

If you can't afford 15 bucks a month for a game you might plan on playing for 5+ years, than you have bigger problems to worry about, like getting a job.
Just buy WoW Token with Current WoW gold and play for free...done
Itâs simple. Donât pay it, shut up and GTFO from the forums and anything blizzard related.
I will gladly pay if they listen to feedback over the next year.
it's not going to cost me a dime if sharding is in it because i won't be playing it.
