blizz doesn’t care about priests anymore. with disc and shadow being actual hinderances to their team in m+ and holy only being really good in raid because of a broken 2-set bug that they instantly fixed.. priests are too simple of a class in their mind compared to flashy classes like the hero classes and the original unofficial hero class: paladins cause every story is about a paladin in lore.
Thats not what that means. But I understand the feeling.
Honestly I’m thinking no spec in the game has ever been fumbled as hard as spriest.
The pure potential thematically is so awesome yet so disastrously carried out by the dev team it’s honestly unreal.
The things we need attention and effort on are our utility kit.
They are not doing what amounts yo a reqork om 12.1.5. Every priest could simultaneously cancel their sub and abandon the game and they wouldnt care.
Let not be dishonest there is enough money there that someone would at least be fired if that happened. But it’s doubtful they would attempt a fix after the sacking.
People will always complain about their spec. The truth is that there are specs that have gotten less attention than shadow and feel clunkier (Ele Sham and Enh Sham). Balancing classes in this game isn’t as simple as we want to make it out to be.
Exactly. Some classes have a 2% different on some log and people who have zero idea how to do these jobs have the answer, just like a stupid manager
Yeah, but whatabautism wont solve anything either. The fact that ele and enha suck (allegedly) doesnt make it okay for other spec to suck a 2% less. Its priest subforum so we discuss that. Shadow isnt okay in any content whatsoever par 2 bossfights in the raid. And while someone earlier mentioned that our utility kit needs atention (which it does) it safe to say that our numbers arent anything special either. Like last tuning pass we got micro st buff AND micro aoe nerf -while there are classes miles ahead of shadow in every aspect like demo amrs arcane and in terms of dungeons i would even mention your Ele shaman. Thats where the question marks comming from on wtf are the devs even doing.
Understood, but I’m just giving an example. From a dev PoV even though I don’t work for Microsoft/Blizzard/Activision, making changes isn’t as easy as some of us think. Especially since Blizzard eliminated a good portion of their engineering team, changes are definitely slow to come by. Btw, I play both Shadow, Ret, Enhancement, Windwalker and Feral so I don’t have class bias. I do agree that Shadow needs help. As a Shadow PvPer and just in overall World questing, I would like to see Shadow become tankier (maybe increase how much Power Word Shield Absorbs). I think Shadow just needs a bit of a buff (not too much) to be in line with other range and make it on par with say Warlocks, Balance Druids, Mages, etc. Ele in comparison just has a lot of broken RNG mechanics.
If the workflow is setup properly it’s not all that difficult to implement changes. From statements Blizzard has made over the years the workflow sounds like pet projects and whack a mole and that is always a disaster in progress.
