They aren’t reading the forums, they don’t care about your feedback.
They just want you to give them money up front without having to do any work.

Wait… you mean they’re a business?
Did they give any indication that they were going to change in the first place?
Why would theynread the forums? Forums are always a toxic sespool of crybabies. If i was a dev I’d get feed back in game and avoid the forums like the plaque unless i wanted a good laugh.
12 months is something I’m certainly not paying for at once lol
A business that knows they put out questionable product and looking to get paid, up front…lol
The best part about the 12 month sub: It’s optional.
LOL! If you think in-game chat is any source of good information, you are sorely mistaken. There is a reason no one complains in-game like they do here. Because in-game chat is ephemeral and is not read by anyone at Blizzard that has any power to change things.
The forums are persistent, your threads stay up and as long as people keep responding, your thread remains active and in their faces.
Blizzard has always had a ‘Steal from the consumer and do little to no work for it’ mentality since Activision merger.
Exactly, no harm in warning folks about they may not get what they think they are paying for…lol
You’re probably not being as helpful as you think.
You cannot blame them from a purely business perspective. If you can get some guaranteed money that locks a player in for the next year, it will give your revenue stream an immediate bump and allows you to inflate your “subscriber” count so it looks good to the shareholders.
As a business move it is smart. I still do no agree with the Drake mount being given away for it, but that is another topic.
And like the 12 sub thier option to read, listen to or respond.
First, I am in no way taking Blizzard’s side here or advocating for anything in particular, but…
I would like to dive into this more. What exactly have they stolen? The agreement for the subscription is access to the World of Warcraft game. You can play any World of Warcraft title for the 12 month period.
Now, unless they take your money and then deny you access to the WoW games, they have not actually stolen anything. You paid for access and you are given access, the subscription does not make any promises or guarantees about what content, function, or features are within the game itself, nor does it make any guarantees about specific servers being available at any given time, just that you have access to the WoW titles to play.
So, unless that turn all of the WoW titles off at the same time and do not reimburse you for the lost access time, they have not stolen.
Um dude its a known fact that Blizz dev and employees play wow. They mingle in guilds and parties and ask questions and get the general vibe of the community that way. Sorry but not sorry, but i wouldn’t take much from the forums serious. The forums is the CNN of Blizzard. An echo chamber of the biggest cry babies that think they’re entitled and love to read their own post and lick their cellphone screens after they post.
Then they suck at their jobs, you go into any servers chat right now and it is flooded with gold spammers, inappropriate player names, hate speech, etc. Chat is filled with people talking about bugs, or player name change issues, or just general WTF. If they are really watching in-game chat, then every single one of them is either lazy or incompetent.
So which is it, they mingle with the players and read in-game chat, meaning they see all this and do nothing = incompetent. Or…
They could care less about in-game chat and therefore do not read it and do not see all of this.
They already had options for 3 and 6, which you did not complain about, so what exactly is wrong with 12? There’s no discount on it, but they did put other stuff on there. If you don’t like it though… simply don’t buy it.
Good point. Everyone was quiet when the 3 and 6 month subscriptions were offered, but 12 is some breaking point?
No Blizzard never changed. They’ve been doing these sub for mounts/collectibles etc forever. This is probably even more thought about for Retail than Classic.
They did the WoW annual pass for a year before too in 2011.
Hate to break it to you but Blizzards basically confirmed they don’t care about forums and it basically just exists for people to cry into the void
