I love the stupid rules gamers come up with that they think everyone should abide by lol
Back in Cata, I swapped to an alt for 2/3 of the expansion because my guild needed a hunter more than a boomie. I wouldn’t have been able to do that in Blizzard’s current iteration of Wow.
So it took you 12 days played to get to a really high end geared just about done no more reason to really play level on that character? Is that a problem? I bet you got 90% there in the first 3 days.
It has everything to do with alts. People used to do PvP on multiple characters throughout the expansion, and people would be able to gear up alts toward the end of the expansion to do PvP. Some people even subbed only to spam bgs.
But that was before they turned PvP into just another source for free stuff for raiders who never did PvP before they turned it into an open spigot of free stuff. And also, people like you with no concern for the game or for others who have destroyed lower brackets by farming graveyards with party sync.
This was me. When I first joined, I spent months at level 60 grinding a gear set before I even purchased BC. Every expansion, majority of my time was spent gearing different classes for casual PvP, and I had a blast doing it.
Blizzard has completely ruined PvP. They removed PvP stats and class sets. They removed Strands, one of my fav BGS. They removed blacklists. They removed the weekly rotating bonus BGs. They separated the large BGs from the small BGs, and moved Horde’s starting point in AV so now it’s tipped in their favor. BFA had no new BGs or a world PvP zone like Wintergrasp or TB.
On top of all that, pvp’ers pretty much have to PvE if that want to be competitive in PvP–exactly what most of us were afraid Blizz was going to do for years.
Sometimes I wonder if Blizz is purposely trying to kill this game. I would venture a guess that about 75% of what I used to spend my time in-game doing from BC - MoP has been removed or altered in some way that it’s no longer enjoyable to me. My only real amusements in WoW now are leveling characters, pet battles, and farming old content.
Everyone plays differently but I’ve never once played any game, from Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega in the 90s to World of Warcraft where I was like “Eh, I won’t concern myself with the best possible choices to make my character powerful”
To the contrary; it’s a pain for us, too. The cloak grind is ridiculous, especially when the haves - the people who have already ground their cloaks to 15 - can get cloak improvements from vendors and from killing N’Zoth, but for some reason we can’t.
What to you is gearing your alt is to us gearing our main, so it’s even worse for us.
If you are a hardcore mythic raider that need several strong toons, yes.
And if you are a hardcore mythic raider, but you complaining about grinding gear/essences/etc then you are not a good hardcore raider imo.
Serious question can anyone imagine how awesome current wow would be with current time to level and the wrath to mop systems outside the legendary cloak. Can even add in M+. You would be able to level a character and gear it to the point of playability in a week and then you could just play it. No grinding 50k echoes for corrupts and cloak upgrades and essences. No cursing the rng god for not giving you decent azerite. Just a good fun game with deep classes that didn’t rely on borrowed power to pad lackluster design.
how much of that was afking? ik nearly all my time is just being afk and either chatting or just being tabbed out and checking on the game every few mins
