You sure?
I think winning the BG as quickly as possible and queing gives the most honor per hour.

As a novelty or alternate, maybe. As the mainline AV, not a chance. I still say that AV 1.5 weekends every so often would be a great alternative to give people a chance to show their support, and experience the old version, without committing the entire playerbase to the least played version of AV.
idk
I’m not sure how much honor points/hour correlates to ranking system when with bare minimum fighting.
Serious question: Does anyone think it would require being built “from scratch”?
There is no indication they’re willing to rebuild anything. They’re bug fixing. That’s it. They’re not going to take a 1.12 AV and try to spend work hours making an experience a vocal group are clamoring for.
Nobody is debating the fact that blizzard appears to choose the path of least resistance on virtually every decision regarding classic. Uncertain what the point of your post is.
That “vocal group” will be the only ones playing the BG once those only in it to get loot have gotten their zerg-earned loot are gone. Just as the “vocal group” will be the ones remaining in classic after the tourist flood recedes.
But I love the wall-of-no tone of your post. Like a baby zyrius groupie.
Yeah, I kinda do. Blizzard needs to know that people are cool with it too. Not just the vocal minority crying.
So you are in fact cool with the earlier AV version (that as you put it we are “crying for”), but you cast dispersion upon those who are fighting for the early version. Your vote of “eh ” is no doubt very valuable to the discussion and blizzard should definitely pay heed to it.
This a very elegant solution to all the durm and strang being thrown around.
My only question is whether or not Blizz still has access to 1.5 AV? If they do having an AV weekend where we could brawl it out for hours would be amazing.
I see you’re still here crying and trolling and insulting people on every post. Nice work. Takes some dedication.
They do not. That’s part of why it couldn’t be the mainline AV, because they’d have to rebuild it, instead of recreate it. They could never have the authentic “From the Backup Data” version, and would have to manually adjust elements to create a simulacrum.
Not sure if it matters, but also throwing my in my 2 cents that I’d prefer the older non-race AV which could potentially be 1 week long epic battle.
I have no doubt launch is going to be horrible and people are going to question layering and when AV comes out people are going to complain about that too. Blizzard will do nothing about both. They will ignore their players like they have been doing since Ion took over (and even well before then).
I imagine the overwhelming majority of the target audience for classic WoW agrees with you, as do I. If the vision for Classic WoW is authenticity to the original game, Blizzard needs to find a way to put the old AV into the 1.12 client of the game. Do I think they’ll actually do it? Sadly I don’t, but I’m up for being surprised.
As of right now, I’m still very hyped for classic but I’m highly skeptical of layering and how long it’s going to remain in the game. I think any sort of phasing technology runs counter to the very idea of WoW Classic. Not getting the old version of AV won’t keep me from playing classic, though I’d be annoyed by it. Layering on the other hand, despite promises of it being temporary, is what has me the most concerned so far. I said I wouldn’t reactivate my account until the day before classic launches but I succumbed and gave them my money over two months in advance. I just hope they get this right.
The least we need to do is call them out on it. If private servers managed to do a satisfactory job, why is Blizzard offering us a lesser product?
Because 1.12 AV is a better product?
Oh look. More bait.
This version of AV is not the classic experience. NO! Please Blizzard this is not the right patch to use for AV. Please Please don’t go live with this iteration of AV.
