So, to be clear to everyone: I am a big fan of Brick’s post about not just flagging people who disagree with you as trolls just because they disagree with you. I’m happy to have a discussion on the topic.
This, however, is trolling. If you’re trying to barter your position away, you are not here for a good-faith discussion. Any and all should feel absolutely no shame in reporting, no matter what side you’re on in the debate, to remove such a flagrantly distasteful attempt to skew the narrative.
Let’s discuss Z.12’s track record.
- Repeatedly states they are only against something because they did not get what they wanted. (Above.)
- Repeatedly lies about facts, claiming they’re absolutes. (Here’s one from my history. There’s plenty of examples though, and he likes to ignore the responses.)
- Makes inflammatory statements. (‘Well except for the part where I’m also totally fine with 1.12 AV because it is superior to 1.5 AV which is of course why it was changed in the first place during vanilla.’ This places AV into a bubble, unaffected by other factors that others have brought up as discussion points, ie, Marks of Honor, for one.)
- Maligning history. (‘in reality blizzard started changing AV very early on due to its defects.’ – Please see the 1.6 patch notes at
https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_1.6.0#PvP
detailing the buffs to AV in the first major patch following its release.) - Consistently ignores facts which do not assist his narrative. (There’s some of this in all the posts of his I’ve quoted here, but there’s just so many – please, have a glance through replies to him and pick whichever one you find as a personal favorite.)
This list was compiled off just his posts from today and one from my own post history because it’s a constant battle I’ve had with him. You can easily go further back and find plenty more examples.
While I, frankly, hate wasting the time it takes to put something like this together, we as a community have a problem which Z.12 here embodies. Am I telling you to report him as a brigade? No, not really. Do what you think is right on your own.
But I am telling you that if you see someone who doesn’t actually contribute to a conversation, but rather keeps trying to yell louder, even when they’re lies – especially when they’re lies – or someone who distorts history, or claims fact where we can only make conjecture…
You may have a genuine troll problem, and that is why the little flag button exists.
