11.1 Raid Renown Feature Preview and Context

I think this is the compromise to ever seeing deterministic loot outside of a fated/awakened season.

Two pieces of loot for all of your characters, that has maximum upgrades is probably the best deal we’ll ever get, and honestly its not a bad one. My only request is that it be opened up to the Mythic + Season Dungeon’s loot pool as well.

I feel like the renown track is too long. People in my guild start losing interest around the end of month 3 of a season, regardless of how far they’ve progressed. That would be about renown 13. Needing to raid for 20 weeks minimum just to finish the renown track feels awful. Asking people to run the same raid for that amount of time is disrespectful IMO.

what does this mean? so if I am doing normal for 3 weeks and then move on to heroic that same week the week 3 renown rewards won’t be available? if that is the case then that is absolutely garbage

Means you can do it on LFR one week, then move to Heroic and the renown you gained the previous week in LFR will be there in Heroic, and you can continue earning the next one.

Cant wait to be doing raid and the BiS trinket that every class needs is super rare and drops 3 times in span of 4 months for my raid group! Oh and the vault gives me tier shoulder, gloves and a belt every week.

Damage and Healing buff improves to 12%.

does these stuff work in pvp settings, like arena, bgs and so on? so pvp players are forced to raid`?

WE GOT IT!!! Finally we can actually BUY an item after awhile like many ages ago, minus the Dinar of course, and get something gooder. So basically like the old vendors and not just an end of expansion feature finally.

Very cool though I thought above we already got a teleport, but definitely awesome! Oh I read wrong that was the Incontinental hotel but still very cool! A robot mek that hopefully is a sexy mount will be great btw!

These are the equivalent to the Nerub’ar finery buff in Nerubar Palace, and will only function inside of the raid.

Just wanted to reiterate what alot of comments have already said, doubling the rate of renown acquisition would go a long way to improve players’ feeling about this system. As it stands, the majority of raiders are not going to continue raiding for 4-5 months just for dinars. It has a condescending vibe to it.

I like the concept. Whether the execution works, I kind of need to be doing it to see if the pacing is ok for me.

As long as it is shared between the Warband (like how Nerub’ar Finery is) I am happy.

For the purposes of the raid damage buff, you guys figured this out literally 15+ years ago, just give us the ICC buff equivalent. I don’t want to have to go in on a lower difficulty before raid time to get the damage buff before we actually start progressing in order to not let down my team. This is very silly and the only reason I see to do it is to force players to carry players in lower difficulties in order to get their mandatory throughput buff. I also don’t look forward to my friends coming back to the game in the middle of a tier and needed to spend multiple weeks in order to get double digit damage % increases, even if the reputation is “accelerated”.

The dinars also come too late, but the rest of the rep ideas seem pretty good. I really do think we just need the raid buff to be zone wide like the Strength of Wrynn. If Blizzard really cared about helping players finish off their goals then this is how they would implement it.

Renown:
1 - useless
2 - chance to grant, useless
3 - useless
4 - first actual reward
5 - useless
6 - useless, make ppl respawn at boss room
7 - second reward
8 - if a 4/8 hardstuck guild can skip straight to boss#N because of this then its horrible, have to see implementation
9 - useless
10 - third reward
11 - useless
12 - “reward” 3month in consumables are actually good rather than buffing it pre-season
13 - fourth reward
14 - fifth reward (once again renown2 is completely irrelevant)
15 - useless
16 - sixth reward
17 - the fact that its renown 17 AND 19, turned this from a reward into an alt catch-up
18 - useless
19 - see #17
20 - raid portal because no fated season, nothing to add here

Every “useless” renown reward should be cut from here and added to the native reputation to outdoor undermine. It’s very clear that there were rewards in mind first, then someone tinkered a system around it, thats why half of the renown levels are borderline worthless to “justify” timegating.

I also take that to mean Midnight will be revealed at Blizzcon in Nov/Dec and then launch fall 2026. Good to know this idea of “faster content” really was just a thought.

The easy fix is to just make AOTC and CE require killing every boss in the raid at the connected difficulty. Only people this much hurts are the carry buyers & sellers.

Raid renown is a great idea, I like the benefits from working on it, but what I dont like:

Extremely time gated … Players could really enjoy and use the benefits of the renown in a 8-10 week basis, beyond that people just stop playing gradually, interest falls of and in the end there is ZERO benefit playing alts if renown rewards are not yet obtained.

Dinar @ 17 … after 17 weeks there is basically no use to any item, no one needs it when the season is basically over. A dinar obtained item should be obtained no more than half the season time, which is aimed to give a little help on main toons and a catch up good item for alts (that still need to work on the crests to fully upgrade it), having it time gated at week 17 most of the mains will not use it and alts will never truly benefit from it.

With that in mind, the 20 raid renown lvls should be obtainable at week 10 of any given season at the most.

What is the point in completing the renown and being able to enjoy it with alts when the season is finished / DEAD?

How about we quit designing content overturned for the player base. This system is nothing more than a lazy way to nerf content and gate it for the average player. This is to drive token sales. This company use to make great fun experiences and now it is a greedy underwear stain.

Pretty sure raid rep has always been a thing…

I love this idea of renown track in raid, and the rewards. However, as many have pointed out, 20 week time gate for full renown is way too excessive. Please, like many have mentioned, make it at least 2 renown per week.
