Given what I have seen so far of the PTR and the features overview of this patch.
I think this patch may go down as being as well received as Korthia.
It is visually interesting, if that sort of aesthetic tickles your fancy but all in all seems like more of a distraction patch than one to really further along any major narrative direction.
It appears at first glance to advance the pieces a space along the story arc without really giving us very much meat of the story.
This is of course a prediction based on only a glimpse of what 11.1 will be and it could be way off base, it’s just the feeling I’m left with after looking at what is available for me to see.
Blizzard doesn’t appear to be addressing most of the major complaints Ive seen with the M+ situation and we may end up with the same meta classes as the current season.
Hopefully the boss encounters in the raid will be interesting, it would be a shame if they wasted such good aesthetic on sub par encounters.

I’ve spent some time in the PTR and honestly, my impression is different from yours.
I only did the first chapter of the campaign to get to Undermine, but from what I saw, I really enjoyed the story. I’m really looking forward to seeing the entire thing as it’s definitely going in the direction I want it to.
There’s also a lot of side story questlines, 13 in total. I’m not sure how many quests are in each quest line but that’s still a pretty high number of side questlines, especially for a patch zone. There’s usually only 4-6.
D.R.I.V.E. Is also super cool. I think once we know the map of the zone more that people are going to have a lot of fun drifting around the city.
The raid renown track also looks awesome. It’s bringing so many QoL stuff to the raid, pretty much turning the start of the raid into its on capital city with all the amenities.
So far, I’m fairly impressed with the content for 11.1, very much looking forward to when it’s live.
As for M+, Idk what to expect. If previous expansions are any indication, S2 will be easier than S1, as the seasons got easier throughout the course of an expansion for at least BfA-DF.

Well to be honest I hope you are right. I’ve often been this games biggest cheerleader. I want it to be good.
I guess we’ll have to come back in 6 months and see how we feel about it.

Korthia, a zone with 0 design and 5 minutes of relevant story
It’s pretty much impossible to be as bad as korthia

After being disappointed with Ahz Kahet, I am a bit leery of a new city zone. This has limited my desire to log into the PTR. Neither D.R.I.V.E or a time-gated raid based Renown isn’t making me more enthusiastic about checking things out.
I understand the need and use for the PTR…but i find logging in and dealing with it all first hand for the first time lessens the blow.
Easier to go in kind of unknown (minus all forum spoilers) and roll with the punches than try to forsee everything beforehand

Haha! Foreal, I’m nervous about the next season. Even as somebody that enjoys dungeons a bunch! The new war within dungeons we haven’t done yet as mythic hurt pretty bad just on normal.

The story is good, but the ‘meat and potatoes’ will be the gameplay loops within Undermine.
If those are good, I think the whole patch will be well-recieved.
In terms of art, it’s already a banger. I love the city.
I’ve enjoyed 11.1 PTR almost as much, if not more, than the rest of TWW, so I think that’s a good sign.
Korthia was kinda bad, ZM was good , Korthia was bad
Darkflame Cleft mechanics killing people in normal/heroic…cant wait for a +10 haha

I can’t wait to see all the polarized D.R.I.V.E. threads!
As for the patch itself… It’ll be WoW lol

How do you die to mechanics in a N dungeon?
It was so poorly designed that it forced me to turn off warmode for the first time since legion.
You’d get endlessly farmed by full raid groups if you stepped one foot outside of town.
Don’t think we’ve had a zone as bad prior or since.
That was pretty much my experience in the maw with wm as well.
Just a baaaaad zone
Also the story was what, we chased a dude around and then the jailer kidnapped him
Great story for an entire zone
What was special about Korthia for this to be unique to it? Lack of Warmode content?
I dont, but i see it happen. Also last boss of same dungeon taking forever because people dont understand the candle mechanic
DFC is definitely the S2 Dawnbreaker.
Not going after candles is my first thought. Eating aoe cleaves… Idk that is impressive though.
I got stuck in NW for about 15 minutes because my group could not grasp hooking the boss. Definitely don’t miss that haha.
Had to kick someone 5 minutes into the fight because they just kept running across the room with the hook. Completely ignored markers, chat and pings being spammed.
Literally. You could tell it was rushed and meant to be more.
I just meant that the area was so poorly designed, you couldn’t do anything around the zone without a raid group. It was beyond linear. Take siren isle for example. Multiple ways out of town. You can take a water route worst case. Or literally jetpack.
Korthia there was only one way out of town and people used that to endless camp.
But that’s just the layout. Not even touching on the poor story, boring handful of dailies and such lol.
