I doubt this happens. I can’t imagine what would make you so confident they would.
It actually is visible, just only for the Hunter. That’s why they talk about giving options to customize it later.
Most people seem to be missing this:
Developers’ notes: Moving into Undermine(d), we are looking to reimagine Marksmanship’s Sharpshooter fantasy and reconcile some large spec friction points such as Lone Wolf. Undermine(d) is seeing Marksmanship lose their pet functionalities and it is instead joined in battle by a unique Eagle pet that will exist outside of the game space but continue to support you in combat in a uniquely Marksmanship way.
There is no visible Eagle. It exists “outside of the game space”. It’s magical lore to explain giving these abilities to the spec.

Read it again. “outside of the game space”.
Read it some more:
I’m looking forward to testing it. However, I would like to lose the Eagle or at least make racial glyphs for them. I am looking forward to it, but I am trying not to get my hopes up.
When does it go on the PTR? Or did it?
Hasn’t yet, most likely early/mid January
Then they are contradicting themselves, so we have no idea if it will be visible or not.
You don’t speak for “most” ppl. That’s not how reality works and blizzard needs to understand that as well.
Looks pretty sick can’t wait to see these guys in action
Because solo content like delves will force them to balance BM\MM. Having a pet tank is one very strong and i find it hard to believe they wont buff lone wolf delve\solo play
Brann is getting a tank spec.
I’ll be honest, probably one of the largest friction points here for people who have played Hunter long-term (ie. before Survival became a melee spec in Legion) is that the gap between BM (almost entirely focused on pets) and MM (since Legion anyways, which has mostly shifted to zero focus on pets) used to be occupied by Survival, which was a ranged trapper/elemental-shot archer that also had effects and talents related to their pet.
Survival still fits between the full pet focus and no pet focus, but it’s also a melee spec now. As much as I like having an option to play a melee hunter, Survival going melee is without question the spec that saw the largest design shift throughout the game’s lifespan, with the next closest being Combat becoming Outlaw. Even Outlaw still shares much of what made it Combat beforehand.
That’s not to say that changing MM now is the fault of Survival becoming melee years ago, but it’s definitely something that seems to be a friction point in the community. MM has seen changes, but most of its changes revolved around concepts it already operated on, same as BM. Survival is the exception, and for somebody wanting to play a ranged Hunter, there’s no middle ground between full pet focus and zero pet focus.
And in 11.1 we can kite and cast Aimed Shot while Cheetah is active.
11.1 changes helps in pvp massively (tuning pending), design functionality, we are losing nothing in pvp, but gaining a lot.
What’s neat is neither do you.
MM had zero focus on pets since long b4 legion.
Even in wotlk the most you did would press Kill Command (that was macro’d into other things because it was irrelevant) once a min.
By cata even that was gone.
He never claimed he did
You still could use it, and that’s the point of it, even if they removed in Legion, they put it back because it was still so popular and people like it
Rocks fall, people died, specs change.
So many of theses comments brings back memories of when range Survival was lost to melee Survival. It just makes me even happier that melee exists now.
I can’t wait to pull fourteen more mobs as I run and gun in the many ultra densely-packed delves, or draw spore mines onto myself, or try to KITE inside the tiny candle flame circle in that one delve.
