I have been playing Death Knight since Battle for Azeroth , and this season was the first time DK DPS could enter Mythic+ as a meta pick. Then, look at what Blizzard has done recently—on 11.05, they completely destroyed the class. I can accept a nerf if the damage was too high, but PTR has been around for two months, and this nerf was implemented just before release. This can be seen as a direct hit to Frost DK, effectively breaking its legs.
Firstly, even before this change, Frost DK was already a class with significant variance due to RNG. Now, this adjustment has only made that issue worse. Furthermore, Frost DK has a massive gap between simulated and real-world performance because simulations are based on thousands of averaged results. But in actual gameplay, after the nerf, if your Killing Machine procs don’t align, your damage output is much lower than before. For instance, during the first big pull in Necrotic Wake this week, my damage from Killing Machine procs and Obliterate was even lower than what my Frostwyrm’s Fury did with Ascended Vigor. In other words, this nerf didn’t just lower the floor; it also didn’t raise the ceiling.
Additionally, I seriously doubt the 51% proc chance for Killing Machine (from two Obliterates) is accurate. On top of that, DK is now one of only two classes without a raid buff. Thank you, Blizzard, for those three days of hope. It’s hard to imagine how, on PTR, Blizzard didn’t catch the overpowered state of Elemental Shamans or the Outlaw Rogue bug, but they decided to focus on DKs potentially doing 8% more damage and Arcane Mages. And if we set aside the previous nerfs, yesterday’s change reduced the explosion damage from Killing Machine, which was supposed to be a buff. Is DK just not allowed to be meta?
By the way, I’ve already rerolled to Shaman. Even after an 8% nerf, Enhancement Shaman is still about 20% stronger than DK.

No. It just refers to a unit from WC, and being able to start from a higher level. Its kind of lost that as the expansions went on and now it really doesnt mean anything.
He is 100% correct.
Unholy has always been the easier one to play.
Frost is easy to learn, hard to master.
Unholy is harder to learn, easy to master.
I’ve gotten multiple CE’s playing unholy/frost.
It’s mostly new or bad players that think unholy is somehow more challenging because it has combo points or an extra button to press. Once you understand unholy it is very hard to mess up.

Nope. Frost is a braindead spec to play, 0 dept. There’s a reason frost is more popular than both other specs even when its bad. IT’S BRAIN DEAD EASY. If you say otherwise you’re just a shill an d clueless about the game. Not worth my time to argue.
Guess you werent around prior to TWW.

It says orc, but he’s a troll, and not a very good one. He’ll go away when he stops being fed.
I would like to see a change to the shattered frost talent to make it more competitive with breath for people who don’t always wanna run breath.
Something like being able to stack razorice higher should be good, like 8 stacks instead of 5, this would help in st and AOE, while current shattered frost only does aoe.
Also, with all the sources of razorice that we have now as frost it would probably be a good idea to put an extra bonus when running the actual enchant, like, if razorice is enchanted on your weapons, razor gains 35% extra effectiveness or something like that.
Also yes, the obliterate nerf were very weird, totally unnecessary
So you’ve never played Frost. Got it.

This is what I’m looking for.
That’s close enough for me. I also recognize that to get that close to dw frost that I need to play it well. They can mention that dw weapons perform better than 2h weapons while still offering suggestions for those that want to use a 2h weapon as frost.
I will keep that in mind. Thank you.
Care to explain what your reasoning is?
Trolling.
That or he’s never actually played frost and is just crying because his class isn’t meta this season.
I don’t know what spec he plays but most including frost/unholy revolve around 3-4 core rotational abilities in ST or AOE.
Also things frost tracks off the top of my head:
Fallen crusader
razorice (tab target swapping if playing SB)
RW stacks to extend (very important)
DB
Then there is also learning the mini game of BOS , when to AMS for RP, ERW, horn and also fit that cd into a boss where you can be chosen with mechanics to run away with.

Sounds lame to agree with roleplay. But this is true. Uptime with Frost is a third of unholy. It should hit X3 harder to compensate
Ya our AOE feels like garbage now.
Are you saying unholy is harder to play atm?

Were you high when you wrote this comment?
Unholy is way more straight forward and a little easier to play currently.
