The legion is toast.
And the light as an antagonistic force has barely been touched upon outside of the maghar event and the scarlet crusade.

I’m not saying i don’t agree with those points… I’m just all voided out.
Eh, that was more of individuals using the light for evil due to them Believing they were doing good.
The Light itself being a potential antagonistic force was made known in legion between illidan and xera
This happened to Arthas did it not? And velen started questioning the light after witnessing it try to dominate illidan.
Deathwing?
Blizzard just tried something different in this expansion and it ducked.
Let’s go back to what works (Legion / Dreadlords).
Velen immediately says collect the shards we can use it for the crucible. Doesn’t really have internal struggle at all, continues to lead.
Deathwing didn’t suffer consequences. He was “driven mad” according to everyone else but they seem to be turning that around in Dflight. His death, the only real consequence he faces, is because we killed him
I think a revamp of EK and Kalimdor would be better than going to kill random vilains in another random planet.
Also, Azeroth is the most important place in the universe and i really dont see the point to make the game all about this star trek thing that we travel to other planets.
Then what are you saying? Yes void can drive you insane and then we go and kill insane people. Meanwhile you can be a light loony and get away with it.
Why did u think DF ducked?
Mind to explain?
The story they want to tell is being portrayed very poorly is what I am saying
The Primalists are lame.
Yeah, that i agree. Its the only downside in this expansion in my opinion.
It’s a big one. Zovaal sucked but at least SL started off strong with Denny. 9.0 was a strong solid patch cycle. This expansion has no solid foundation in that regard.
I think this expansion is heavily influenced by Vanilla’s success. And at the time of Vanilla, the first patches didn’t have well-defined villains either. What was important was basically exploring the world and feeling like you were part of an adventure.
I think this they managed to do well with DF, as so far Dragon Isles has been an interesting place to explore.
What are you talking about? The leveling journey serves to setup Emperor Thaurissan, Onyxia, and Nefarian as villains. The Horde side was slower burn setting up the Legion and the Nightmare which didn’t have as clearly defined narrative baddies but the Alliance side has a clear end goal in mind - Blackrock Mountain. Humans, Gnomes, and Dwarves all have a journey from level 1 to max level to eventually face these baddies down.
What? In which way, Stv, Feralas, Tanaris, EPL, WPL has anything to do with those vilains?
There was no leveling in Vanilla lore that pointed to these villains. You could do all your leveling without ever having heard of their existence. There were numerous maps with identical quests that were based on drops from creatures on the map.
Still waiting on undermine.
But I like the idea of a space themed expac too
Dwarf / Gnome face off against the Dark Iron from the get-go. Humans are hounded by Blackrock Orcs and also face off against Gnolls and Defias who are pawns of the Black Dragons. The Human story is about a conspiracy against Stormwind. Elywynn, Westfall, Redridge, Badlands, Searing Gorge, and Burning Steppes all lead up to the confrontation with the Black Dragonflight.
The Kalimdor lore is undercooked but it is what it is.
even worse than dragons.
How about a hollow earth expansion. We journey to the Old Kingdom in Northrend to stop Twilight Cultists from digging up Yoggsaron’s body to get at his heart. During the battle we fall down a chasm that leads to an ancient Titan facility where they studied and experimented on intelligent life. The continent is divided into layers. As the expansion goes on we keep going deeper down.
Let’s see how this zone is received before we plan anything longer term in that regard.
