It’s supposed to be. It’s waaay beyond what a legendary would be for those levels. Its supposed to be stronger. If you want to earn more xp instead, by all means do that.
you don’t use heirlooms for a power boost, you silly person! you use them for the XP!
Because the gear makes you weaker and causes you to kill slower/eat/cast defensives+heals you may not be getting any bonus xp.
Than normal gear, heirlooms aren’t normal gear
Actually, heirlooms are supposed to be equivalent to “blue” items. For those that haven’t been keeping score, a few expansions ago Blizzard gave blue and green items the exact same stat budget. The only difference between a blue and green is that blues are sometimes available at a lower level than an equivalent green. An ilvl 200 green and an ilvl 200 blue will have the exact same stat budget.
Azurite gear on the other hand, is far beyond the stat budget for a legendary at the lower end of the BfA leveling spectrum. Heirlooms have never approached that level of power, and Blizzard clearly doesn’t intend for that to start happening now.
How was that by the way? Was it faster than questing?
I dunno, I’ll have to go and look that up to verify it, then go and look up stats on gear the day looms were released.
It is very disappointing to be wearing heirlooms then get quest gear that has literally hundreds more stat points than the heirlooms.
