Every possible way to heal for every class was buffed except fistweaving. Discipline had big damage buffs and a 50% atonement buff when not in dungeons. All other heals in the game were increased by 30-40%.
I assume they are not done. Looks like they did a big single target healing pass, they will probably be tweaking faeline and ancient teachings next pass. These are big sweeping changes, usually they come in waves. Holy Pally got a nerf, and so did Prevoker with sphere and cycle of life. Hopefully they will be nerfing the incoming damage in Mythics, because I personally think that was a big mistake during the last health/damage/healing change.
Vivify was buffed quite a bit and ATotM was increased to 40 yards.
Just the damage itself wasn’t touched.
I feel like it’s really ST damage and then ancient teaching conversion that could use a bump.
SCK spam with awakened faeline is already massive healing anytime there are 4+ mobs and Chi-Ji is also massive healing if you can maintain melee uptime.
Fistweaving ST damage is just low all around.
Healing for FW seems pretty low overall not including spinning crane kick. I can easily hit 100k on my disc priest just using power word radiance and my damage rotation on a st fight. I cant do that with just fistweaving.
Pretty much.
MW fistweaving single target is just weak, both in damage and healing. We do have pretty strong casted ST heals I guess, which are getting raised even more in 10.2.
Blackout kick especially, you can have it hit 9 times at once with some adds and it STILL doesn’t do a lot of damage!
I have noticed that MW and Disc have pretty low damage. When im holy I can easily hit 100+k multi target but I usually end dungeods at 30kish on both mw and disc and 45-50 on holy.
And even if your fist weaving you can put out really stong healing with vivfy cleave/yulon but at that point your not fistweaving anymore.
To me it seems they are scared to put high damage into abilities that passively do a damage to heal conversion. They seem to have more damage in abilities where you need to choose damage OR healing and not having damage AND healing at the same time.
Then they throw that out of the window with SCK spam (awakened faeline) when you have 4+ targets.
So who knows.
Would love to see customization for mana tea effect so we can choose:
1)Mana Cost Reduction
2)Damage Boost
3)Healing Boost
Make this a choice node that will solve the issue of a permanent passive damage boost but now we have combo/burst window which fits out theme already
We used to have chi ji active that boosted damage by 30% but it’s gone now.
Also, where are the MW damage options for non FW? There NEEDS to be a SooM → Damage mechanic that would promote SooM and Statue SooM to generate damage
I like the choice node idea.
I’m still against making a ranged damage dealer option. Monks are melee people who punch and kick. That is regardless if you’re fistweaving or playing more of a caster roll. Doing damage as a monk should come from punched and kicks in my opinion (and I tend to play a Mistweaver style more often than fistweaver style).
That doesn’t mean we can’t have something (or at least buff CJL) for moments of area denial when we can’t hit anything. I’m thinking of the times like the two centaur bosses in NO and the last boss of academy. Sure they are short periods of time but you can get almost a full channel of CJL in but it isn’t worth pressing.
Be glad they didn’t nerf fist weaving.
They’re nerfing aoe healing and somehow TOM managed to escape.
ToM needed some buffage. This might even it out.
This is what frustrates me with Fistweaving. Beginning of expansion they dangle it like a carrot “LOOK WE LISTENED”
Then about midway it becomes extremely subpar and they completely ignore it.
Just wish i can do more than pet dps outside of cds on single target
I think the 10.2 healer changes have the potential to be a huge mistake.
Blizzard saw Theun’s video where he compared damage patterns on Liquid’s N’Zoth WF kill which was one of the least healing intensive bosses in the raid to Razageth which was one of the most healing intensive and concluded that healing profiles are much burstier in DF.
So now Blizzard are recklessly taking the axe to healer mana, healer CD’s, healer utility, AoE healing and overall throughput to specifically nerf raid healing. To compensate they’re buffing some single target healing spells like Soothing and Enveloping and Vivify.
The problem is that in true Blizzard fashion, they’re not doing this holistically or methodically. They’re buffing a couple of skills and ignoring the rest. No changes to Chi Burst or Chi Wave or JSS or RJW or EF or SG or Fistweaving or the rest of the MW toolkit. Same goes for other healers like Holy Priest. They’re buffing Flash Heal but forgot that Heal exists.
This just creates dead talents and dead buttons and dumbs specs down into bots that spam the same button over and over again playing whack-a-mole spot healers. If Vivify heals for 30% more and cleaves for 25% more when am I ever going to think about using EF for double Gusts procs or Zen Pulse or Fistweaving when simply spamming Vivify is better throughput all the time?
We are also getting all of these changes but nothing is being done to increase Mistweavers damage to bring it up and in line with other healers? Nothing is being done to alleviate it’s reliance on being in actual melee range? Nothing is being done to fix the dead class tree capstones?
This whole 10.2 patch is feeling like Blizzard are putting a lot of effort into nerfing raid healing and I really don’t know if that’s a good move when healer participation is at an all time low in PvP and every M+ group is waiting for a healer to fill their group. Is nerfing raid healing really the play in that environment? How many more patches that reduce healer power are going to be needed until healers stop playing the game alltogether?
Not sure if ToM is Tear of Morning but if so it is borderline useless
-It was only ever niche when releases
-It only had any value because you could take Rising Mist concurrent with ToM
Now that you have to choose between the two now it’s really hard to justify
Without rising mist it needs some help
I don’t fistweave, but I will say I was humored at the 280k Vivify crit on PTR lol.
I am not. I would have mained a monk forever if they would have put corrosive dosage in the tree. Now im going to be disc.
I wasn’t a fan of corrosive dosage because it just led to a spamming of overhealing.
I feel like monks are a melee class (the game treats them as a melee) and their damage should be melee.
Shamans, Druids, priests, and evoker healers all have ranged counter parts that facilitate their damage being caster based.
