I propose a system that records your solo kills and cash’s out all possible loot on the 100th solo kill. That is roughly 2 years of farming something every week. After 2 years of constant farming people should GET the drop, they seek.
If Blizzard agrees to respect people’s personal time, then they should plug in this law and put a cap on the endless hunt. 1% to 5% drops may drop in a week or two or may never ever drop, it is a recipe for madness and burn out. Please save the minds of your player base. Don’t worry we have lots of other stuff to make us crazy.
To everyone who thinks this idea is bad…remember…remember how you’re still hunting for Invisibles reins.

Great proposal, I wish that was the case, but doubt blizzard will implement that.

Mounts/cosmetics are not a paycheck. Stop trying to turn them into a paycheck.

lol how is a guaranteed farm for 2 YEARS a paycheck?!!
It’s a mount or a mog that we will forget about in a week when the next new thing comes about. Perhaps making people farm for it for more time than they may actually play the game is a tad bit overboard.

Then maybe don’t spend that much time farming it, if you dislike doing so and don’t actually care?
I saw a great example of how little they care yesterday. I ran azure vaults norm for the first time this season… they made the ledge shortcut instantly kill anyone who dares try it.
So now you have to follow the normal route and kill a bunch of trash like its an m+.
Definitely killed my want to dungeon level from 60 to 70.

I agree there should be some kind of increasing chance after a number of kills, something like every tenth kill you get a 1 % increased chance so after 100 kills there would be a 10 % chance of getting the drop. It could still take a long time but atleast there would be good morale and hope would be kept up, and anyone who tried to kill something for 500 times have earned it imo. Just have something in place to prevent people going on forever

Somethings are guaranteed. No one cares about them.
Somethings take a few tries. Some people care a little bit about them.
Somethings are like a lottery. Some people care about them a lot.
But the reason they care about them is the rarity. And no matter how you cut it you wont be able to close the door behind you. They’ll make a change, you’ll have your rare thing you’ve been working for and then turnaround and find that everyone has one now, and…

B-b-b-but my immersion! There’s no way an adventure party could treat the terrain as a puzzle and use class based abilities to get yourself or others to safety in order to find alternative routes! In my RPG? Nah…
took me a decade of soloing yog to get mimirons head, you got at least 8 more years to go :')
Nah, keep it the way it is. Every individual kill needs to be it’s own individual “roll” for the item. If you do not have to ligitimatly work for something then it is not special. Besides, what constitutes “100 solo kills?” One hundred times on the same toon? One hundred times on an account? If you do one then people will want the other. There is a big difference between something taking almost 2 years vs one week on a bunch of alts.
Something such as, oh, let’s say, Invinsible should not be so easy to get. That is the one most people complain about. I agree, no drop sucks, I worked at it for almost 10 years running multiple alts a week, and did not get it until I killed Artie on the Shadowmourne quest that I did out of pure bordom. Ony was the same way, I just had any and all alts that might be able to solo her parked outside the instance to take a go at it each week. Took years before I almost wet my pants. That is what makes a rare drop worth it.
Yeah far better to have 1 kill or 1,000 kills as a thing.
It would be on the same toon and not account wide.
And hunting something in a video game for 10 years is not a brag. It’s a sign of an abusive game manufacturer.
You have been so abused you are defending them and not joining the side that has fresh baked cookies!

You missed my point on that. If you do that then people will want it account wide. People already want almost everything that is currently on a single toon to be account wide. Do you think it will be any different for a guranteed rare drop? (well, I suppose we can no longer include “rare” when refering to said drop).
Then its in my opinion that you should be shown mercy and get it because you have earned it
