They didn’t, but Blizzard made seperate Horde & Alliance cutscenes for that scenario, Alliance side only showed the Alliance fighting, the Horn being blown and the Horde rangers on the Ridge leaving, so ‘abandoning the alliance’ and leading Varian to being killed. So as far as an alliance-only players perspective, the Horde left the Alliance to die.
The horde on the flip side saw the fight on their end, that Thrall was hurt, Vuljin was grievously injured and they were being overrun, so they know the retreat was warranted.
Undoubtedly, but they also stressed the point that the order halls were not the factions in Legion, they were separate individual groups operating on their own outside of faction lines. Also much more concerned about dealing with the Legion then reporting home about what the other side saw when they were still morning their respective leaders deaths.
Also the rogue orderhall in Legion has multiple quests and bits about people trying to deliberately spread false information to ignite a faction conflict.
The last part is what leads me to believe that the conflict between the Alliance and Horde won’t end.
A lot of people keep mentioning that they are at a stand still, even appears to be a draw down, but everything that happened doesn’t just go away.
Teldrassil is still burnt down. Countless slaughtered/dead. War Crimes rezzing people into Forsaken ranks against their will and, what appears to be, being controlled by Sylvanas.
Tyrande might have came to terms on some things with Sylvanas being forced to do Maw dailies forever, but that doesn’t mean various characters will suddenly be okay with the Horde.
If your talking Legion and Suromar, again the Orderhalls are their own entities outside of faction lines, and the Burning Legion is a much greater concern to everyone that lives on Azeroth then faction conflict, everyone put their quarrels aside to work together, no explanations necessary.
Dude…vol’jin went down, we were screwed. tactical retreat was called.
and the alliance say hunter goes oh…didn’t know that. so we both lost a leader…damn that sucks. and they agree to A drink to good leaders, RIP bro’s.
Then they bust each others chops over new bosses. hahaha alliance…can your leader even shave?
shut up horde…at least he didn’t power slide right into frostmourne. Petless bow hunter (classic didn’t even have lonewolf talent/bonus) going melee with a pre 3.3.5 DK. And now she leads you all.
This would be like you being mad that they made Maraad refuse to cooperate with the Orcs in Draenor because the Main Universe orcs genocided his people.
I didn’t see you outraged back then. In fact, Horde told us to suck it up.
Baine is having an expected reaction. Y’all are so hellbent on wanting Baine to be Cairne you don’t care that everything they do with Baine has been in-character for Baine, this included.
Baine is not his father. Stop trying to make him be like him.
I really hate when people say “well akually if you do the Alliance side…”
Whatever NPC said that lied and you find that out from the Horde side of the quest:
This is from the spirits of the dead. Does it look like they were “given an opening?” Does someone with skinning knife really look like a battle-harden soldier?
And Baine saying “well Taurajo is a valid military target” is extremely insensitive and not something you say about your own people. Plus, how much of an accident was it really if they set up ballistas outside the gates of Mulgore?
