I’ve only heard some rumours that we will be returning to something akin to WoD pvp. One set of conquest and one set of honour and I’m sure they will be putting some scaling hidden math in there as well.
I know my perspective won’t be popular. But just a few items; a) does anyone know if they continue to plan for borrowed power systems? Because if they do then they will need scaling to bandaid their broken systems. To many borrowed power systems from legos to covenants etc and the math can’t be balanced…so they add scaling.
b) the ranking system of gear was amazing. It’s nice to be a little more unique as opposed to everyone gets the exact same gear with the exact same stats. I mean when zoning into pvp everyone may as well be issued a tabard and that’s it. We play nude except for a tabard. That way everyone is equal. Why even bother with gear? Heaven forbid someone grinds and works and gets items higher than someone who doesn’t.
c) new battlegrounds. Maybe even a whole new system. Hire some actual pvp devs. It’s not the biggest part of the game but I mean you have an entire esport tournaments centered around arena and even some rbgs stuff wouldn’t you want to put a little time and effort into pvp?
I know that all sounds a bit convoluted but returning to an old style of pvp pre-scaling seems to me like we will end up full blown scaling by the end of the xpac. Instead let’s push to make sure blizz doesn’t slam us with forced content play and borrowed power systems. That will free up a lot of wiggle room especially in pvp

You weren’t kidding on your perspective not being popular. The ranking system is terrible for PvP and PvE. It causes way to many problems and grindy chores. Gearing should be simple and done in a couple weeks. It shouldn’t be timegated or require rating.
Yea need a new BG and most importantly all the Epic BGs are terrible and that entire system needs an overhaul and each BG revamped. Epic BGs should be long epic battles over objectives. I would remove all the bosses in Epics and have it be about controlling specific points and getting HK’s at those points. When an Epic BG ends people should feel like it was non stop PvP instead of the boring avoid players and kill NPCs.
Epic BGs players should have 100’s of HK’s by the end of it.
I don’t know if PvP can be saved or if 10.0 can be good. I’d love to be proven wrong though.
There will still be ranks of gear:
- Undergeared/pve players
- Honor gear
- Conquest gear
There will still be a gear gap that you seem to love, the only question i have is how difficult will it be to close?

I play several games. Just doing some WotLK prep and playing TBC.
New World was a lot of fun. WoW killed itself while ago with the worst expansion ever released for an MMO in SL aka…System Lands. A better question would be can Dragonflight fix everything that is wrong with WoW and save itself.
‘Fun’ New World has 70 k players left. ‘Worst’ expansion ever SL still has millions . BG queues for Horde pop every 6-7 minutes for epics and every 4 mins for random BG’s.
WoW is doing just fine I think .

Slow your role SL is lucky if they have 1 mil. This expansion drove players away by the millions into the arms of other MMOs. Which is why the average sub for players is 2-3 months a year. Fact is most people have other MMOs as their main game now.
Delusional at best statement. This game is barely on life support and not sure if they can win back the majority of the playerbase that has left. SL has the worst player metrics of any expansion and is the model of what not to do in making an MMO.
Has Blizzard finally learned and ready for redemption in Dragonflight? After 2 failed expansions and the worst one to date. We shall see but Blizz really needs a win it’s been years since they had one.
I don’t understand how someone can say WoW is doing fine when everything is on fire which is why Microsoft bought this company for a discount. Activision hasn’t put out a good game in almost 7 years. That’s a long time.

But what about New World the mmo you wanted WoW to be . How many players are there ?
How long does it take to get an OPR going? While you can play a BG every 4-6 minutes in WoW . Your advice was to make WoW like New World .
