100% NOT ok with delay of launch

I’ll take open beta SL over BFA without a second thought.

They’ll balance better and fix things faster when everyone is testing it anyways.

No, it pretty much lines up with what I’m saying.

WC3 Reforged was not what they promised. It was completely broken. It should have been delayed because the systems needed to be re-designed which is a major change/undertaking.

SL isn’t broken. The systems aren’t broken. It’s just unbalanced. Balance can be achieved through hotfixes and hence it makes no sense to delay the launch because they don’t need to rebuild a system.

Yes.

And I did get to where I wanted the other shoe to hurry up and drop. But there is so much else changing in my life right now, I would like to have one stable thing. Just for a little while.

I’m not too bothered if it gets delayed a little, but I will feel bad for the people that have already booked their time off work. That might suck for them to work out.

To those who sincerely want a delay for them to “fix” the game, it’s mostly balance issues which don’t signify a delay.

Watch them delay it by 6 whole months, then that tune would change lol

Games are pushed back all the time homie. Last week Baldur’s Gate 3 was pushed back from a 9/30 release to a 10/06. Cyber Punk 2077 was pushed back like 3 times. FFXV was delayed by about a decade.

Quit your bull.

At this point vacation would be locked in for them and they’d be stuck with it, for most people.

I could just tell my boss I’m taking a different week off lol.

BG3 isn’t actually a release. The other ones were delayed well before a month before launch.

Early access is still a release.

True, games like Breath of the Wild, Team Fortress 2, Half Life-2.

Early access is basically paid beta, not a full release.

They initially promised “before 12/31/2020”. I would have rather they used their 2 extra months and ship an actual working expansion, listened to feedback, and not double down on the 3rd iteration, the most complex and convoluted yet, of their borrowed power fiascos.

I mean, there was only a very small release window regardless, anything after Nov. 17 is basically out of the question.

This guy is the reason the world is in the state its in. He wants it NOW! no matter what state its in. Releasing a product that is not polished would be a lot more harmful to the game overall than releasing a bugged out game that will turn people away.

Are you saying the release of SL will be an early access title? Did I miss something lol

BG3 was supposed to release into EA on the 30th, but it got pushed to the 6th, translation issues.

I’ve gone into the office on December 26th, and worked from home on December 25th.

They’re big bois, they can do it too.

I disagree. He plainly wants it when it is supposed to be released. A perfectly good reason to have.

Blizzard always takes 2 weeks off during that time, they have enough bad PR about underpaying people, they don’t need anymore from canceling people’s usual vacation.

So us working stiffs can do it, but their working stiffs can’t ?

Our company has often scheduled massive downtimes and major upgrades during the holidays precisely because that’s where they least impact productivity.

Maybe next time, don’t promise things you can’t deliver ? Don’t make systems so complex they’re broken by design ? I dunno, set proper project goals that are realistic, and don’t provide hard deadlines a year before you have an idea of what the shipping product will be ?

Where was the lead designer to say “This is too ambitious guys, we’ve never done anything as complex as this, much less as in this short of a timeframe and our player base right now is disatisfied with our product enough as it is”.

Have these guys never ran an IT project before ? This game is 15 years old…
