100% NOT ok with delay of launch

People say that about EVERY beta

This is absolutely false.

BFA was broken. The streamers, testers and everyone paying attention were screaming at Blizz that BFA was broken and unplayable. This is not even remotely close to the case with SL.

I just did a search, there isn’t a single article about people leaving en masse from blizzard in 2020

Fix Chadgar release Prepatch whenever it releases. However, I don’t mind a delay on Shadowlands. October seems way too soon. Before it was announced I was expecting December.

After Cata I don’t think we’ll ever see a december release again, progress during christmas isn’t fun for a lot of people.

They already announced BFA ending soon. Take a chill pill

Perhaps. But saying so isn’t helpful. It’s like the boy who cried wolf. This time, there actually is a wolf. And Shadowlands IS alarmingly unfinished for this point in the development cycle. And if the parent company, ActivisionBlizz, wasn’t so stubborn they would absolutely have announced a delay in the release date by now.

Why would I do that? Seriously, I realize that this expac has been out for two years and that a lot of people are still currently stuck at home (thanks 2020), but I would rather they release things when they are actually READY than to have something half baked.

Just my opinion.

I’ve been in beta for months, sorry, just not seeing anything worse than BfA beta, actually, BfA beta was loads worse, hell they kept telling us that “raid azerite would be interesting and fix the azerite problems”

Game developers have the rights to change the date of the product they are releasing and pre-purchasers don’t have grounds to sue for that. The Burning Crusade was pushed back and Cyberpunk 2077 has been pushed back several times over the course of years. They aren’t drowning in lawsuits and neither would Blizzard if they moved back the expansion.

I don’t know what you’re doing, but a simple Google search just netted me dozens of such articles. And sure, many of those articles are dated 2019, not 2020. But 2019 is within the timeframe of the development of SL.

And I just watched a Bellular video within the last 24 hours that talked about many Blizzard staff leaving for other companies, including one being set up by Mike Morhaime.

Depending on country though, things like Cyberpunk pushing back couldn’t deny refunds.

Though IIRC the first time Cyberpunk got pushed back they removed it from the store for some reason and EVERYONE got a refund.

Back in june 2019 sure, but that was “high level” and not some mass exodus, there is no mass exodus or it would be reported. And something back in 2019 has no bearing on their release date now, they put the release date out with the current climate in mind.

That’s not the level of problem I’m talking about. Azerite armor issues in BfA were a conceptual problem that they struggled to overcome. I’m talking about many class abilities just not working. Also, the degree to which they are still tuning class and covenant abilities this late in the cycle (heck, they flat out replaced some covenant abilities this week - I can’t stress how strange that is this late in the development cycle). And the Maw is woefully underdeveloped as a zone available at release. It would be like Suramar just having world quests and mobs that dropped a currency.

So people complain that they don’t make class changes in beta, and now that they are actively still making class changes people complain that they’re doing that. They can’t freaking win.

I have seen so many squashed bugs over the last few months, many that I reported, I fully believe it will be fine. I have had a blast on beta and can’t wait for launch.

It’s not strange, they’re literally doing what people have asked them to do since the beginning of time, keep working on things instead of just going into balance mode.

Systemlands beta is much worse than BFA beta.

Lot of show stopping bugs and bottle necks

No, it really is strange. Not that they’re doing it, of course. You’re right about that. But rather how late in the development cycle those changes are coming. At this stage, normally most games/xpacs are just in the tinkering/fine-tuning stage. Brand new covenant abilities is not fine-tuning.

And we’re rapidly approaching the point at which most previous xpacs would have launched their pre-patch (i.e. this coming Tuesday).

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not wishing things to go wrong with SL. In fact, the exact opposite. I want a good xpac. And I would be prepared to wait an additional couple of months to get it.

I mean, if you’ve been playing this game as long as I have, you remember adding, removing, and tinkering with abilities throughout the entire expansion, I think them still tinkering and continuing to tinker is a step forward.

Found the problem.

Getting your opinions from Bellular is almost as big a yikes as getting them from Preach. One will say literally anything to get more clicks on his videos. the other will say anything negative to get the meta to be raid logging.

I agree. This has happened the last few expansions. Expacs were not ready or unpolished lack lusting of value aka 8.0 Heart of Azeroth shenanigans. Yet you got people complaining on forums and asking Blizzard to delay content to better polish patches or expacs. This is the “Blizzard Borrowed Power systems” to make it look good but grinding endlessly without limit; (HoA never ending levels) Ashjra’kamas corruption grinding and annoying effects. It never ends. Its their fault, their mess. We must hold them accountable.
Yet some on here are white knights and do not mind falling on the blade for the company.
