My point still stands, if those paltry and hollow things are your “enjoyment” than you have larger issues you need to deal with that the game cannot help you with.
Exactly how much “fun” and “excitement” did you have during the warlords launch, when lots of people couldn’t log in for a week?
A new raid is all I need, it’s why I play.
Spoken like someone who wants to pay to beta-test.
It wasn’t a week, it was 3 days, and the lower pop servers didn’t have many issues, just played on one of them.
And warlords was not the norm, not lately.
And this opinion is why game developers know they can release an unfinished and/or broken game with the promise of fixing it later, whether they actually will or not. That isn’t a good thing.
The delay would have nothing to do with the ripcord, but fixing fundamental gameplay, like base classes that are still broken.
Im for delaying release personally. I don’t want a failed launch.
HOWEVER: most of my guild mates have already put in time off work for release week of shadowlands and we are gonna have a lot of angry nerds that took PTO that week.
For a lot of people it was 2 weeks.
fair point. he was speaking in the context of when games shipped on discs and couldn’t receive over the air updates. it is possible now to salvage a botched launch, it’s just much harder than getting it right to begin with.
I was able to play on ZJ after a few days, and they even gave us back the sub time for those days.
And like I said, it was a fluke. Didn’t have any issues during mop and legion, and only minor issues during BfA. Overall I look back on all those extremely fondly.
They did give us sub time. But um… given the mess on Khadgar hasn’t even been fixed yet, it could really be bad if they’re not ready.
They’re restoring on a case by case and that should be fixed up by Tuesday when they finish the connection.
The people fixing that are not the same people working on the prepatch and expansion, that’s the engineering team.
If it is Delayed, it is Delayed. That is going to have little to no bearing on if people play it or not. I would put money that the same number of people would buy and play Shadowlands if they released it in December as in October. If we have to wait longer, then we have to wait longer. It just means I play less WoW till then. My Sub is active, so thats that.
There are several things which I dont like about Shadowlands. I have listed my gripes on the forums, probably a couple occasions. I have concerns that the systems will be a mess. I have concerns about some classes and specs.
I wager most are in a similar boat. We are just Over BfA and want to play WoW. The BfA systems and Grinds are pointless now. That means the bulk of the daily content in BfA is pointless. And getting a new char to 120 is almost pointless, because the difference between a fresh 420i 120, and a 120 at 465i with essences, BiS Azerite and Corruptions is staggering. 30k DPS to 100k DPS margin. So if you get your toon to 120, you cant raid or M+ or PvP with them, because of the borrowed power grind you need at this point.
So till Pre-Patch where I will level a new char, all Im doing is mount and tmog farming. On most of my classes I have the mogs I want, so Its just waiting. And at the end of the day lets be honest. We are all going to play Shadowlands, because we love the game. Even at its worst, we still will find a way to have fun and play it.
Phase 1: Your account is randomly scrambled, characters randomly deleveled/regressed.
Phase 2: You log in and find one randomly generated character of some random race/class/spec/level/gear that will be the character you are to play today.
Prove me wrong. /s
so what, go and enjoy other things on your days off…my god these people getting angry about their free time not being devoted entirely to a video game…it’s so silly.
Doubt it’ll happen, but I’d just laugh honestly and go about my day, I’m not that attached to my characters
A delayed game is better than a rushed game.
A possible typo on a test realm is the reason for this freakout?
Dang…
Like what? Can’t go outside, they were looking forward to something and got their hopes dashed, its not a good feeling.
I’m ok with it if it means bug fixes like the weapon illusion vanishing with Illusion: void’s edge get’s fixed.
