Activision is the problem, they are the ones that have pushed the game to designed as a time gated grind to keep people baited into 6 month subbed.
You might think the game is a failure. But theyâre probably making as much or even more money than when the game was at peak subs during Wrath. So no, itâs not a failure by any means.
10.0 Will happen because of greed. That being said, it will be total garbage from my standpoint because the company put the least amount of money into that expansions. Just a gut feeling that from here on out the future expansions and patches are going to be small and heavy time-gated on the cheap. With little to no value outside raids. Just my feelings on the matter.
Disney isnât exactly in a position to make such a big purchase. Their super-expensive purchase of Fox hasnât worked out as well as they hoped, their parks had to be closed because of the 'demic, and their recent movies have underperformed.
No, this is driving everyone to FF14, while they were both great games, they are different, FF is fun I love it, but it didnât do anything to win the masses, they are leaving because wow sucks in its current state.
I cancelled my sub, its got a few days left, I used to play both, now it will just be FF14, not because they have driven me from wow, but because wow has driven me from wow.
Have you not been paying attention, Blizzard released 1 great expansion in 10 years, this is normal territory for them. 10.0 is worth the box sales alone.
No way. As long as token sales and the cash shop are successful, WoW will keep chugging along.
Some companies try to tank sales on purpose.
Konami was hoping MGS 5 would fail. So they messed with Kojima-san. messed with his budget over time then made a rush end to release.
And despite all thisâŚKonami had a hit. the hit they didnât want. They wanted to shift to Pachinko.
They had to pay to make a whole new game to kill off their game line. The follow up survival game they used the Metal gear name for. Now this trash got them closer to the Pachinko cash out dream.
Ion is not Kojima. Kojima has more talent in a fingernail clipping than Ion in his whole body. So we arenât getting that.
Leaves option b. Make a game that gets worse each cycle. SL makes BFA look great. A feat many deemed impossible.
Good.
SL is a dumpster fire.
As anyone on the forums recently has seen Iâm not a big SL fan atm.
That said, SL > BFA.
WoW will continue on, they earn a ton of cash from the store. Changes might need to be made (letâs hope.) and the population might get smaller but the game will survive, it should be fine for years at any rate, while a ton of people left and we can feel it in game with LFG content the games population is still huge.
Iâd say look at EQ and theyâre on what 20 some expansions? they still keep Heroes of the storm going so Iâd imagine when wow hits its lowest point theyâll probably still be able to produce throw away system expansions to timegate yourself through.
Yeah, I donât know why people think WoW is actually dying. Even as disappointing as 9.1 supposedly was for everyone, it still brought people back, and just like that, and like every expansion, 10.0 will bring tons of people back. People flock back to WoW just as quickly as they do away. As much as people love to hate on WoW, itâs doing just fine.
Yeah dude itâs unbelievable how amazing FF is. My entire guild left me and I joined another guild and they all left too. Itâs crazy canât even put a raid team together not enough players left in wow. Even the RWf is happening in FF⌠just crazy
Everquest is still going, still producing expansions and itâs much older than WoW. EQ also had EQ2, but it wasnât enough to get the hardcore base of EQ to stop playing. So yea, Wow will likely be here long after weâre gone.
Ion has already said there will be a 10.0.
The were working on 10.0 before SL was even released. I wouldnât be surprised if they have a rough outline already started for 11.0 and 12.0
This far into SL Iâd have to guess they are a good bit into 10.0.
Weâve already gotten confirmation that 10.0 is going to happen. Rest assured.
That is a popular move for businesses. Land is more affordable. Texas is more business friendly and Californians have mostly taken over Austin anyway. The California devs can work from home.
Thereâs no reason at all to end/discontinue/delete/ WoW as long as thereâs a player base! Think Ultima Online: hardly a start of the art MMORPG now, itâs pushing 30 years oldâŚyet still there, with new content releases etcâŚWoW will be around til ⌠forever, lol!
