Technically, the price has gone down. If Blizzard increased the price to keep up with inflation, that $12.99 USD per month price would be $20.12 USD today. That’s a 50% increase since 2004. The $12.99 USD we pay per month with the 6 month subscription would be $8.38 USD. So, yes, the price has gone down.
wow around here good sushi place runs you around 180$ for just two people.
I’m in SoCal and haven’t seen an Arizona tea actually priced at $0.99 in ages.
here arizona tea is priced at .99$ everywhere i go in wisconsin.
You guys understand that you don’t have to pay for it, right?
I think there are a lot of reasons to criticize Blizzard, but giving people a free mount for buying a 6 month sub that’s already discounted isn’t really one of them. It’s a good deal, especially for people who know they’re going to be subscribed 6 months down the road. If that’s not you, then it’s clearly not for you.
Unlucky.
When I go overboard, I can get to 70$ for one of the best sushi places around here.
You can get good sushi for 15$/person around these parts.
It is about $78 USB for a six month subscription.
Okay.
Thanks for the life update.
It might sound weird, but for some of us it’s easier to budget in wow on a monthly basis.
I can’t drop 113 on a singular thing so easily, unless it’s a necessity. 21/mo? Might seem illogical but it works.
Take that money, put it aside. Use that aside money to pay WoW.
Budgeting and payments are 2 different things.
You absolutely can budget monthly for a yearly payment. The frequency of payments shouldn’t affect your monthly budget.
If you’re living month to month, then you can budget the monthly cost better or use gold/tokens to pay for that. At least better than paying $100 CAD upfront. Plus I don’t think you can use gold/tokens for the six-month subscription.
One could argue that they shouldn’t play at all if their finances are that tight but it isn’t our place to tell them how to spend their money. Plus everyone deserves a soft luxury treat once in a while.
I’m happier doin’ month to month tho.
Means that if another game snags my attention to the point where I leave wow for an extended period of time, I can just cancel my sub and ‘minimize’ the ingame time loss.
Incidentally Destiny 2 keeps trying to steal me away from WoW.

Do you people not understand what a budget even is ?
You can budget monthly, doesn’t matter when you pay.
20$/month for WoW ? Perfect, set it aside. Pay twice a year.
The problem is you guys don’t actually have budgets, you have incomes and spending all going into an account and you just try to keep that account balance in the positive and bursts of spending hurt that possibility.

That’s fine. But most people say this, but still pay the sub monthly without pause.
Those people scare me.
with friends
Jokes on you for having friends.
If you’re that poverty stricken, maybe spend less time gaming.
I just looked up what 1 can of Arizona Iced Tea costs in San Diego at a Walmart there.
88 cents.
Not saying you are incorrect. I have seen stores that markup prices on items for pure profit reasons.
A moot point since they no longer make the Ginseng tea in the blue bottles.

This is a totally reasonable and valid mindset to have. I do the same because I play a lot of games and I’m not always in the mood to play WoW.
That said, I do think there’s nothing wrong with incentivizing long-term, committed players for purchasing a 6 month sub, especially when it’s not like Blizzard is taking the ability to pay monthly away from you.

I live near the coast, so that’s probably why lol
