I can’t believe this still isn’t fixed!!!
Guys update on this, my ilvl has increased since this post and the rare has continued to scale in health with my ilvl. It is now showing as a 438k rare (my ilvl is 194.) This is unbelievable and clearly should NOT be happening. ilvl scaling needs to stop past the intended level of the mob, in this case 50.
This will be my last post, as my time runs out in just over an hour. But they’ve clearly shown that they don’t care about fixing this, so I’m gone. It’s possible that I MIGHT return later in the expansion if all of this stuff is fixed. But for now, bye.
Do not fear we will carry the torch.
Scaling in older expansions is broken.
Get your 50s character geared with BFA gear and stuff and lock xp. Really. You will not miss covenants, nor torghast, nor raids, nor anima farm, nor mythic+ no reward stuff. You will be 20x times stronger and able. Till someday, maybe at expansion ending, you reach the lvl 50 level of power.
Don’t expect Blizz devs to address or even attempt to fix this. Coming soon™ is their slogan, and that is usually years in their time frame.
probably because their bosses haven’t seen the quarterly reports for the 1st quarter of 2021.
That is true.
Right now I can do more as a 50 than most 60s which is sad and defies all the principles of MMORPG game play.
i suspect it is set in a really high number. 600 or something. maybe even 1000. devs do it in various games when they want to set it so something scales pretty much indefinitely or when making physical barriers in games but can’t make it infinite for technical reasons. so they set a really high number they think no player will ever reach. i suspect the mobs will continue to scale well past shadowlands.
They pulled this shenanigans in Legion and players pushed back. Another push back is in order it seems.
Because we’re still subscribed.
It seems like they are on vacation? I don’t see much being done. This expansion is small both in area and in unique things to do. You go through all of the content very quickly then you repeat the things you have done. If they don’t fix the scaling of old content so that we can go back and do it, I’m going to run out of things that I want to do.
Lots of people are keeping a few toons at 50 with heart of azeroth and locking xp to farm old mounts and cosmetics. There has been (since beta) a glitch in scaling as well as legacy mode damage where once your level 51 your power level drops so you cant even do legion content you used to be able to solo. Sadly at this point either lock or level some to 50 as they still have more power than a 60 in legacy content. Mind you you still cant solo bfa and technically wont be able to until next expac but at least most of legion should be soloable now. Mythic was a little reliant on corruptions but that’s about it.
Edit: according to Ion this is working as intended because despite the stat upgrade gear you put on it only makes the numbers look higher as you will always be weaker going into a new expac however that is idk.
Actually from my experience so far, 51 seems like kind of a “sweet spot” because your secondaries have not dropped too much and you can now take advantage of the more powerful gems and item enchants from SL.
Anything past that and the numbers start to fade.
Where do you go to lock in your level?
I haven’t played horde in years but there’s a guy at the rogue area in orgrimmar that can lock your xp.
This thread is just what I needed to cement my decision to take a break.
Legacy content is a big motivator for me, and something I do to pass the time. Given that it’s so borked, I think it’s time for me to move on for now.
So blizzcon is over, and the new patch doesn’t address scaling at all. Don’t even know what to say at this point…
Have to keep posting feedback until it is fixed IMVHO.
Scaling in Legion is really bad…like BFA is easier than Legion with the exception of fighting elites. That should not happen.
Ok guys we have breaking news:
So Ion has said we will be able to solo legion at the end of SLs meaning they INTEND for it to be this way. Never mind the old 11 levels they used to say.
