10 levels and no stronger than the end of BFA

Boy, I sure do love being in mythic dungeon gear from the current xpac and getting absolutely obliterated in previous xpac dungeons.

I swear sometimes I feel like I can smell the resentment from Ion. It’s like someone somewhere up the ladder hates how half of the players play the game.

They can hate it all they want…if they remove the ability to solo old content, a VERY large number of people are going to leave. They’ll be left with the hardcore raiders, which is <1%.

WOW already went well below 1 million players in BFA…if they keep this up Shadowlands is going to drop even faster.

I agree. Legacy raiding is a point of personal progression for me and is what I do when I need some down-time from current content.

I’ve already unsubscribed.

If this is “working as intended” then it is clear that they intend for me to go play another game . . .

FFXIV does it right honestly. Everything scales to your level, but capped by expansion (like how this is “supposed” to be). But you can queue for old dungeons and raids, no matter what your level is, and get scaled to the intended level. That only happens in the dungeon finder though, if you go in solo you have the option to deactivate the scaling and solo as much as you want.

I have nothing against making old content more relevant, rather than just throwing out everything but the most current patch like WOW does. But the OPTION to solo old content must still exist. The way FFXIV does it, is if Timewalking was available all the time, and for every single dungeon/raid in the game.

We are starting to get traction on this now, FINALLY. After a month of people saying “just get raid gear and it’ll be fine”, and then raid gear didn’t make it fine…we’ve had at least 3 separate green posters do their own testing, and verify that stuff IS scaling incorrectly, BFA mobs are scaling their stats (but not levels) past 50, and there is the occasional mob scaling to 60. I have a feeling the fix will be “quiet” and the devs won’t admit anything was ever wrong. But we ARE at least getting traction now.

This i spend half my game time farming transmog I was looking forward to being able to go back n solo legion mythics for other alts that I need tmog for ,but I don’t think that will be possible now sadly.

Honestly, I like the sound of that. (Especially since FFXIV is the game we’ve been trying the last few days)

I was a hardcore Guild Wars 1 player back when it was current, and so I jumped on Guild Wars 2 when it came out. The main reason my husband and I stopped playing GW2, though, was because when we hit max level and geared ourselves out, we still needed a full group if we wanted to try to do the very first dungeon. It would be like still needing a group to run Wailing Caverns. There was just no sense of progression in that game, even after the expansions came out.

In WoW, we play current content, gear up, and then go back to progress in old content (and then continue that cycle throughout the expansion). It is our driving force behind gearing up. Our progress is currently stuck at pretty much the same place we were last expansion (give or take a boss or two), and after spending a long time time waiting for this expansion to come out so that we can finally move forward – well, that’s just disheartening.

I’m not gonna give up just yet…with the stuff I’ve seen the past couple days, it’s pointing toward work being done on this, quietly in the background.

This is far from the only serious issue in older content now either. Orgrimmar’s phasing is completely broken for anyone that didn’t complete the 8.0 BFA intro quests. Any character that completes them post-9.0…look forward to a completely broken Orgrimmar. This makes at least one dungeon quest impossible to turn in. Even support has no idea what’s going on. They told me “you need to complete the BFA intro quest, it’s on the warchief board”…um, I DID complete it. I made a detailed bug report.

Exactly this!!! Except it is worse than that, we have actually put all that time and effort in to leveling to actually be WEAKER than 50s. Yesterday I was killing elites in uldum, taking many many many full rotations to take down, when along came a TERRIBLY geared 50 and proceded to blow those mobs up faster that I was.

We talk about the proverbial “slap in the face” on these forums and that always makes me lol, but it really was like a “slap in the face” :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
Seriously though why did i bother putting in time and effort to gain 10 levels? I was better off at 50!!!

I too have already unsubscribed. If they can fix this and insert some fun back into the game, then I will re-enable my sub. Otherwise I will go do other things, as it seems to be their intent.

According to wowhead that’s how much they’ve always had. I haven’t popped over there on a 50 to check them out yet.

Maybe wowhead shows the max health they scale to…after all you can get significantly higher ilvl in BFA than my 50 does…this character has only been 50 for a few days and aside from the legendary cloak doesn’t really have any decent gear. So MAYBE this is working correctly?

Wowhead may have “new” information now or something.

I’m seeing 16.6k at level 60 with 188 ilvl. Mind you, that health is much more than the typical 10-13k health I see on lvl 60 SL mobs.

Ok, if level 60 Shadowlands mobs have less health there is something severely wrong. Even my level 50 is seeing them at 13k or so, with 84 ilvl.

Granted Mechagon is an endgame zone added in a much later patch, compared to the mobs in SL now.
