10+ day wait. Unhelpful responses

GM staff I don’t believe handle forum appeals, but if you took a 4 month suspension then it was likely egregious and/or, based on history. This is not a CS issue.

Template responses are often used to pass the same information to everyone.

I’m not here to argue my forum ban. I think they are incredibly heavy handed personally for trivial stuff but it is what it is. I’m saying overall the support is garbage. Idc what aspect of the game needs support, if it’s this team or that, in house or out. It’s just bad

If you were up to 4 months on the forum penalty system that takes some work, meaning past infractions. Either that or you did something that really crossed a few lines.

We are not allowed to discuss disciplinary actions on the forums though.

For well over a decade, if not the entire history of WoW. Before that companies used form letters that were even typed out. People still get them as junk mail or company correspondence. They add your name, and an option related to you, the rest is a template.

The forums are for discussion of WoW topics, and require us to follow a very family friendly code of conduct. Always have. Moderation is hit or miss sometimes, but they will ding you if you go too far and get reported. Don’t do whatever it is you did.

There is nothing wrong with the term gussy, as in gussy up. You weren’t using it that way, Simang. You appear to have used part of a similar word, moving some letters around so that it didn’t actually spell out an inappropriate word, but really, just masked it. The swapping of letters to use a word without using a word is common, it’s been around in gaming since you could name your own characters.

From what I can see, Simang, your behavior has been toxic.

To be clear, the appeal process is in place to verify the original penalty. Our staff will generally not be able to discuss the action with you.

That is easy, because you didn’t use the word “gussy”. You used some of those letters, on at least two different characters, with another letter swapped around but still in the name. The name of the achievement doesn’t do the same thing to mean a word that wouldn’t be appropriate.

Once, we tend to give folks the benefit of the doubt, but twice seems to confirm intention.

Our policies are reactive. If you encounter a character in-game with a name that you feel may violate policy, you’ll want to use the right click report option to report it.

Thank you all, I think this one should be locked up now.
