Normally i dont tend fo care to much especially considering it will belp a lot of people who cant use there hands to well.
But the sad part about this is. People are just going to use it to be lazy. I get that lfr is easy mode but people cant be bothered to try on there i dont think giving people the option to TRY LESS should be the ideal situation*
This one button is going to be less popular than you think it will be. While they can calculate the button which will do the most damage in a given situation, what they probably can’t do is tell you the best button to push.
That is because the button that does the most damage might have a Cool Down which will be wasted when the 2nd or 3rd best button will kill the mob just as well.
I see this with HeKili (The Addon that Ion mentioned) all the time. I’ll have a mob just about dead and it will tell me the best button to push is one with a 2 minute Cool Down which I will actually need on the boss a few seconds later.
Hekili is great to teach you the rotation but it doesn’t take long for you to learn that rotation then learn when it is NOT giving you the best button to push.
1-button macro is already available with GSE add-on and /castsequence built-in macro capability. Ion’s just eliminating the perceived requirement to download add-ons like GSE, Hekili, Details, etc. If they’re so ubiquitous, then he just want to bake them into the game.
Its been in the Game for years. Its called a sequence macro. Blizzard is just making a UI so you dont how to know the timings to allow for GCD when making the macro script.
Hell I have all my dots rolled into 1 button on my Affliction Lock.
Legit, no joke, freeing up the brain-bandwidth of your rotation literally gives you more for situational awareness. For LFR and it’s faithful, this will absolutely be a clear-speed increase, no shade, condescension or malice intended.
The fun part is that this system makes minimum acceptable performance an empirical value. There will be an add-on within two weeks that reports the DPS the AI would have done with any class at a particular item level.
There will be people who insist they want to play the game and not just be a drinking bird, and I’m fully on their side.
But there will be a subset of those people who play worse than a drinking bird, and they will get insta-kicked. Those people are gonna come cry on the forums.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Blizzard makes systems that enforce toxicity, then is Shocked Pikachu when people are toxic.
