Procs, talents, set bonuses, damage coefficients, flat % buff or nerf auras in pve or pvp.
2 percent is never just 2 percent in wow.

If you want to never have to worry about seeing your class adjusted in patch notes just play priest or demon hunter
why? adds variety.
Whoa, whoa, back up a bit.
Have a seat. We need to talkā¦
So with the internet and stuff I was curious to check this out. I am not the most fluent in FFXIV. So correct me.
What am I missing?
thats about 15% difference.
About 9%
TBH I went through the savage, put it on 95% percentile. Cant find any fight with only a 5% damage variance.
You think their calculators are worse than yours?
the spread of all dps is around that. melee are balanced against each other. pranged on pranged. tanks on tanks. , healers on healers, casters on casters.
Why would you separate different types of dps?
Seems arbitrary.
Why is there is a dps penalty based on your ranged/melee role?
Why arent you separating physical/magical?
because raids are set up differently in FF14. thereās only 8 slots. 2xtanks, 2x healers, 2x melee, 2x ranged (caster and prange).
you can take any two melee, ranged, healers, or tanks in and down a fight. bringing certain classes will help parses and what not maybe, but it wonāt affect the ability to down a fight in comparable times. if that makes sense.
So instead of proper balance.
They just hard coded a way to ensure they dont have to.
FF14 is far more balanced than WoW. you can essentially play whatever job you want to play within an archetype and clear the hardest content without being a hindrance to you group. in essence, really the only difference in dps is playstyle within a archetype.
closer parity can be achieved. i promise you this. iām people started leaving the game
in droves cause of their crap balancing, then theyād fix it quick. they drag their butts because you allow them to drag their butts. at the end of the day itās just math.
Yes
We just need WoW raids to require the lower dps groupings.
nods
keep maki long my excuses for their lack of ability to more tightly tune and balance things
Look.
I am agreeing.
Not even FFXIV could balance all the classes. So they found a way around it.
so this also applies to anything like 3 weeks after world first.
I mean, I donāt think you are. Also, what have they found a way around?
They have a boss that takes x amount of dps to down. They balance all the jobs that any 2 tanks, 2 healers, and 4 dps can down the boss. Is it perfect? No. Does ff14 have its own set of problems? Absolutely. However, they do a far far better job of balancing their classes than this game. There are no dead classes in that game. There are absolutely dead specs in this one. It shouldnāt be that way.
your meaning?
Ff14 also only has one fight type that matters at the high end: single target. They also badically homogenized the hell out of their classes. None of the jobs have any unique gameplay-expression in regards to utility or damage profiles. They basically removed some depth and variety for balance and homogeneity.
That you can play any spec you want in WOW and succeed.
If that was the case then certain jobs wouldnāt be getting locked out of higher end content.
