1.5 AV please please please

They can choose to do it they just need a good reason too, right now in there mind they probably don’t have a reason too.

Loss of sales and bad publicity could change this very very quickly, suddenly investing an extra stack of cash to make sure things are done proper will become a bit more appealing to them for example.

Why do you say that?

The blue post said they “planning” to use the 1.12 version of Alterac Valley. And that they are “picking” this version. Picking means to choose something from a number of alternatives.

None of us know what options they have.

Got my vote, I preference pre-nerf everything.

I love hypocrisy in action; you’re a shining example.

Any version of any feature within vanilla is #nochanges. Only non-vanilla features like Transmog and LFR violate it. Nochange people were ok with frankenpatch since it was first defined.

I do like this new tactic, though; it makes it easy to pick out the trolls from the people who are legitimately advocating unpopular changes.

Ziryus was the guy who posted the wall of no. He is here just to stir the pot, troll people. He is not getting enough attention in life, so he tries to get some here. The best is to ignore him. Unfortunately, I think this forum doesn’t have this function anymore.

But back on topic, the A.V 1.12 is a terrible decision. Blizzard could win some major points with the community by listening to us if they make this effort of providing one of the previous versions.

The fact that there were more NPCs, and that they had more HP/Damage was the biggest reason preventing the zerg rush. No Korak, no bones to turn in and by 1.12, turning in armor scraps is close to useless. You generally don’t even have the time to collect them, the battleground is finished before.

Brack said “We are committed to give you an authentic experience” but then, they refuse to give us one of the greatest feature they ever made. 1.12 is part of Vanilla, but for many parts, it is also the most boring. Blizzard still doesn’t get its fan base it seems. And when a company doesn’t understand its customers…

How much can we find exactly on AV?

This should be 1.9: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCVMWSQC0HM

The poster says he filmed it that January in 2016, so that would be patch 1.9.

This should be patch 1.9.4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WvScFAbwTI

February 21st. (Approximation) Shredders and Wolves in the video.

This one is uploaded around 1.11 after Naxx dropped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqZ0LXGkEJ8

And shows lots of Lord fighting in the center and no zerging to the boss etc. But theres no landmines or 1.5 stuff.

This one uploaded days before 1.12 went live. Long after 1.5, but people are definitely still fighting in the middle of the map instead of rushing the bosses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azXig9-fqcQ

Big fights at snowfall here, definitely not the boss rush, but its brief. Uploaded after 1.12 launched, but may have been recorded earlier. Would have to dig deep to try and narrow down exactly when it was recorded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azXig9-fqcQ

This is the first rush I could find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRnnodvQgpI

Its timed, and was setup as a premade on a server by the PvP guilds on said server. This is them describing the run: "This was a premade of about 35 horde on the Kel’thuzad server. We comprised a number of different guilds and were among the better pvpers on the server.

We used no add-on or other tricks to queue together. At the time you queued at the battlemasters and were able to monitor how many instances of AV were being played. We would then queue in mass, force a new AV to start and join together - usually getting at least 30 of our 35 players into the same AV.

The speed run was done mostly for **s and giggles, and to see how quickly we could finish AV. "

This seems to indicate that this Rush of AV was before AV rushes became commonplace. When this video was uploaded, doing such a thing was seen as an accomplishment and tool “coordinating like minded people” to do it. These days its automatic. So if I had to guess, I would mark this video as the very beginning of such tactics. This was Late October 2016, just before the PreTBC patch a month or so later.

Heres a guild led AV rush 11/13/2006 just prior to TBC pre patch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfwq-Yz05So

Again a guild led rush + a few pugs to guarantee cooperation and to ensure everyone follows the rush rules. They end AV in 5 minutes.

After this I find a bunch of YTs of Guild led AVs rushing and finishing the games fast. I also find a lot of Wall jumping videos as people discovered how to cheat their way into the final bases to cap the last flag even faster.

This seems to seriously verify that the AV rushes on retail STARTED shortly after 1.12. I can find looooong game prior to the 1.12 patch, but guild runs showing AV rushes mysteriously start showing up right on top of the AV patch. I cant say for sure if it was something in the actual 1.12 patch that triggered it, or if guilds just started “having the idea” around that time… but they coincide almost exactly. Sure, those rushes started out as Guild events for coordination sake, but we all know it eventually led to even PUG AV’s using that same tactic of ignoring everything but the last boss.

The Zerg Rush is not the only problem of 1.12 though. And now that every single player knows about it, it will happen quite often, there’s unfortunately no way around it.

But AV with Korrak, various quests to turn bones, way more NPCs just brings this BG up to a whole other level. It makes it feel like a huge ongoing battleground. It was epic, fun. The 1.12 version is just a plain version, you just join another battleground and it feels the same as going in Arathi or Warsong.

As soon as they say they’re going to put 1.5AV in the game is the same time others will now demand 1.5 itemization and talents,

So will they do that? Will they not compromise with everyone then? Wouldn’t that take longer then?

So now instead of WoW classic coming out this summer. They may need to push it back further.

They arnt releasing AV right away anyways, I’d recommend they either just do AV 1.5 or roll out the patches how they were supposed to be. I’d prolly just do AV 1.5 or 1.6 or 1.7, not 1.12.

No one’s gonna complain about AV being 1.5 vs 1.12. And if anyone does they don’t know what there talking about and it’s not gonna be a deal breaker for them to buy the game anyways. But for me it is deal breaker because AV was my favourite in the game.

If you’re not going to play classic WoW because of AV that is a shame.

You don’t want to play classic WoW in the first place. You want a 1.5 AV simulator. Not classic WoW.

AV is just a fraction of classic WoW. It’s not the whole game.

the guy edited the post about the black lotus I was responding too.

I’ve noticed this is your second thread about AV. This is spam at this point. There is a blue post on Av with over 1,000 replies. Should have kept it there.

It’s not spam to me.

Where’s the problem with discussing the merits of pre-nerf content?

No

meh

Since blizzard has clearly announced they plan to use 1.12 it has as little merit as discussing any change to 1.12.

Didn’t you already have a thread regarding this? I take it you weren’t liking the replies in the other, and thought a new one could change that?

Yea I highly doubt they will go back and change this. You can tell from the announcement they knew they were going to get back lash from the way they laid it out.

With internal alpha started I doubt they’re going back in to make as big a change as AV.

Edit: I had to go back and double check but the AV announcement is also the only one to not encourage added discussion on the topic. It was a we hear what you’re saying but this is what we chose.
