1.12 has strategy. You have to take specific objectives to allow for your win condition. And if you don’t do it right it devolves into a massive clash.

Yes, I made a mistake. I started playing literally just about the time that 1.10 dropped, didn’t hit 60 for the 1st time until after 1.11 dropped. I can admit when I make mistakes at least.
Well if AV is going to be the 2 ships passing in the night zerg fest version that is a shame. Sure there will be other things to do in Classic, but the idea of the original AV was a huge plus for me. Too bad.

When you launch something in game and not enough people get involved, you change it, which is what happened with AV.
Original intent does not matter when that original intent was unsuccessful.

1.5 AV can be zerged. If all people in Classic want to do is zerg, 1.5 AV is not going to stop them, merely slow them down a bit.

Yup. Most people didn’t even “play defense”. Most of the time it was failing to cap a GY and getting your zerg rush killed.
They do this because it’s easier to just dismiss people by basically saying “they don’t know what they’re talking about” then trying to convince them of their point of view.
It protects them so they don’t have to change their own point of view while also trying to discredit people that disagree with them in the hopes of making the undecided masses decide with them, not the person they are discrediting.
If 1.12 AV deters you from Classic, you were never interested,

Except that 1.12 AV wasn’t the Vanilla experience. It was at the very end of the game. That’s like saying Naxxramas was the only thing in all of Vanilla, and that if you aren’t interested in raiding Naxx, then you aren’t interested in playing Vanilla at all.
