Get used to 1.12 AV or don’t play I guess…
I shall continue to voice my opinion that 1.12 AV is a mistake until the BG patch is released. I suggest you all do the same. Just by liking posts helps convince blizzard to make the right choice.
The people who are against authentic-AV I guarantee have never played an xpac before Cataclysm. They are all anti-fun, inexperienced, misinformed, delusional players who’s opinions are irrelevant.
1.12 AV is exactly like BC AV. I know from experience. So if you want a quick honor grind for gear, then it is great. If you want an epic game with experiences that are worth way more than any epic gear, you want 1.5/1.8 Classic AV…
What if I don’t think it’s the right choice?
I’ve played this game probably longer than you have… it’s okay to have a different opinion my dude. And btw 1.12 AV is also ‘authentic’ AV in terms of what is vanilla.
Lol oh really now? You sure are making your opinion look extremely relevant when you speak like this lol.
No it’s not, I know from experience.
You didn’t rebuttal at all. You just said “I disagree”.
You didn’t make any points. All you said was how dumb people are for having a different opinion. What was there to rebuttal? I’ll rebuttal you when you give me something to rebuttal.
1.12 = faster honor and quicker gear
That is the main argument.
So why not just make it 8.0 AV? Have some free randomized epics when you win. So all players can enjoy the thrill of getting armor after a quick Zerg rush AV game. This is what you want.
You honestly think that this thought is ‘rebuttal worthy’ when you say stuff like
Uhh okay well let me start off by saying…yes you do get quicker honor and quicker gear but that’s not the main argument because that’s not the reason why 90% of the people I know want 1.12 AV.
Comparing it to 8.0 AV either shows me you are either
A. Being completely disingenuous to how 1.12 actually was to try and push your agenda
or
B. You didn’t play/don’t remember 1.12 AV at all.
To me I enjoyed 1.12 AV more because it wasn’t just these games that took sometimes days to complete with no end in sight. Don’t get me wrong, these games are fun. But, they are only fun after doing a couple of them then it gets to the point of ok enough is enough we aren’t really doing anything.
1.12 AV was rarely a zerg. For the most part I remember still taking towers/defending towers/doing the quests if I was on D/fighting over graveyards. The earlier versions just felt like… it never ended. I’m sure people know the game mode better now to where they might end sooner, but not being able to get anything done because mobs would one shot you got boring after so long.
So if you want to actually make some real points I’ll be right here to talk about them. If you’re just going to be a child and tell me the reason why I want AV and how you think it’s just a BfA BG, then there really is no discussing with someone on that level of arrogance now is there?
90% of the “people you know” are likely tourists like yourself who will likely not even level high enough to do AV before they wander back to BFA.

We tried very hard to create a battle experience that felt like Warcraft; we want you to feel like you are part of a larger conflict, with the potential for lots of strategy and tactics beyond a simple mob of players crashing into each other.
facepalm
Dude, look if you ever want someone to take your side of the argument seriously you have to stop saying dumb stuff like this. I hate BfA, and I love classic, but because I prefer an AV that you don’t then I’m a tourist? If anything you’re more of a tourist than I am because you don’t want to play classic based on what version of AV will be used lol. I am fine with either because they are both vanilla. And a version of AV (that was present during vanilla) isn’t going to turn me away from playing this amazing game. It seems like you are turned away fairly easily.
I’m confused how does this show how bad 1.12 is? 1.12 can be played just like this and most the time it is from my experience.
Ashran was beloved. I knew people who would spend hours in it at a time. Hell, I would spend hours in it at a time. It was a really cool experience.
Wuh…wuhhh…whhaaattttttt
This is the 4th person who is fighting against AV 1.5, that has gone out and just flat insulted and namecalled somebody. What is wrong with you guys?
Sigh.
You would had to have not played in WoD, or at least Ashran, if you didn’t know that. Ashran had its own community.
The only problems with Ashran is that sometimes the battle would get super one sided for over an hour. But I guess it can be like that in all PvP.
And that a lot of the time it was pretty zergy. But at least it constantly had massive battles, which was cool.
I never did finish my Warlord of Draenor title though.
No I think you didn’t play WoD or ashran if you thought it was fun lol. Every single person I knew hated to ever living hell out of that place. And to make it worse, if you wanted to be competitive in arenas, YOU WERE FORCED TO DO IT EVERY SINGLE DAY. God that place was awful.
Well, you already showed that you are apart of a community that thinks that the current AV is better than 1.5, so I guess I’m not surprised that you also didn’t enjoy large scale PvP.
Pfft just depends on what you mean is large scale pvp. If by large scale pvp you mean that the alliance ran their raid down mid to kill the general while the horde made group and ran in circles around the ‘events’ and they completely ignored each other then yeah. I don’t like that large scale pvp. Oh and then the once in a blue moon when the horde decided to actually push down mid and all it was, was people just smashing aoes and the larger group won. Yeah totally fun dude. I love it so much.
Where to start:
The raid groups were the same size. You would know this is you played Ashran.
Both teams had to do objectives and push down the middle. You would know this if you played Ashran.
Ashran was basically just a massive slugfest, with lots of NPCs that you could summon to tip the tide in your favor. You could summon your raid boss to push the enemy keep, you could summon your Riders to patrol and mess up anyone that accidentally ran into them, etc.
Ashran was like 90% AoE fights all day. Only after WoD did it change to being what it is now.
Ashran was literally designed to be like old AV, and it was a major success. It was also the only large-scale PvP zone that actually consistently got played into the next expansion. Both Tol Barad and Wintergrasp died as soon as the next expansion dropped. Ashran was still being played in Legion. But alas, after WoD, they had changed it a bit, and it just wasn’t the same. The community was still there, but the BG had gotten bugged somehow, and it kind of ruined the experience. I can’t remember what the bug was though.
1.12 AV isn’t going to kill a thing. lol
(edit)
Well, except turtles.
AV was dubbed a PvPvE experience
1.12 took out the E
Where to start… just because the raid groups were the same size doesn’t mean there weren’t people off randomly doing a different event or mining somewhere off randomly. You would know this if you had any common sense in your brain.
At season one of WoD all people had to do was kill the King ONE time a week for their random epic pvp piece drop and besides that most people just went in their to get their points for the day, and the horde/alliance in the ashrans I was in always had this sort of agreement where the horde did the events, and the alliance pushed down mid and completely avoided eachother. Getting a horde to raid down mid on a Monday was almost impossible because most of the fights happened on tuesday when people would get their pieces. You would know this if you played Trash-ran.
And unless they changed it after I quit that trash expansion this almost never happened.
WOW SUCH FUN. I LOVE JUST SITTING THERE ON A HILL CASTING BLIZZARD ON EVERYONE AND CALLING THAT PVP LOL. TRASH
No lol no it wasn’t. You know how much hate Ashran got on a large scale? The majority of players despised it. It’s literally called Trash-ran in the pvp community.
THAT’S BECAUSE THEY STILL MADE YOU GO THERE LOL. You literally still had to do it as a pvper to get max benefit. It would have been abandoned if they didn’t, but Holinka was a notorious narcissist who would not admit something he made was terrible. So he made people stay in the trash of a zone he created because he thought it was perfect. Any surprise he isn’t the pvp guy anymore?
That’s because you didn’t get anything from it. Did you know that Naxx was dropped on the release of TBC? Does this blow your mind?
Yeah because Big Brain Holinka forced his players to go there, that doesn’t make it good genius lol in fact that’s why it’s the most hated pvp zone in existence because it wasn’t just bad, but you were forced to do it. I literally just googled ashran and everything that popped up is overwhelming hate for it. Rightfully so too.
Ashran community. Now that’s hilarious. That is honestly hilarious lol.
