Sorry no 1.12 AV won’t kill classic, you clearly have a skewed vision of Classic AV. Firstly AV was most liked because it gave the best honor and if you played alliance your chances of winning AV vs WSG or AB was much better. Also AV que times varied from like 30 minutes to an hour so your would play WSG and AB while you waited for AV que to pop and kicked yourself if you had to afk and missed the que lol. And I hate to break it to you but after you played your first AV turtle game that lasted 2 days when you got to see all the cool npc’s get summoned, by the second 2 day AV game you were just over it. Horde needed to turtle sometimes for the quest which was changed in 1.12 and many folks just wanted to win an AV to get the ice barbed spear. It was a mess with conflicting objectives on both sides. Many alliance would just leave as soon as the horde started turtling cause we just wanted to quick honor points and didn’t want to spend 2 hours to 2 days in AV. This is an actual clear case of you being stuck on the nostalgia of a classic experience vs how it actual was if you approach AV from a realistic perspective.

That same logic applies when you look at the changes to AV. They were struggling to get players to play original AV so they changed it.

OK, last time I am hoing to engage with this argument:
Low turnout for AV is no worse than low % of players that do raid content. When AV came out, people did not know the strategies, many were not done leveling, and very few were well geared. I played from the first through the last vanilla AV and from my perspective they began to really effect it in a negative way after 1.7.

Being less “popular” than other content is not a good argument for nerfs. Many of us were enjoying it, and content with the neccessary strategies to work through it. Much like raids. While it was nice to be there at the end, I never felt it was the end all be all of the BG. Judging by the web page I have linked, the devs seemed to expect the same.

I do not play hunters so know nothing about them, nor does lascerate make up a large part of my prefered endgame.

Lastly I have always supported a frankenpatch. As have many been that are labled #no-changes.
Lastly, early AV has had widespread support since they began the drastic nerfs during vanilla. This is nothing new.

That’s a very big problem for Blizz and it’s why they patched AV in the first place. If Blizz feels that raiders are not raiding, they adjust raids as well.

I have no idea why you think that Blizz should be in the business of sitting on unpopular content and not listening to player requests to change it. Lotta complaints like that around here.

But overall, you just like 1.5 AV better and you don’t give a damn about -

• What anyone else’s opinion is
• What Blizz thinks
• What did or did not work in the past

The only actual metric for you and the other pro-1.5 AV folks is YOU WANT IT.

I’ve been around WoW a long time. I’ve seen the PvE droughts and how the playerbase reacts to it. It’s the same every time.

John Staats, the guy who made Vanilla dungeons and WSG did an AMA on Reddit and said AV was changed because people complained and participation in it dropped drastically.

So the reality is old AV wasn’t widely liked, and the coolness of it being a giant turtle wore off quickly.

There is no raid in WoW’s history that takes a day to complete on farm.

Disliking old AV =/= not liking PvP.
