1.12 AV ruined PvP rankings for casuals

Title says its all, these 5 minute zerg bgs award an absolute truck load of honor for people that can waste their time mindlessly farming a zergfest of a bg. Its just a shame blizzard actually allowed this to go live. Feels like a slap in the face to someone who geared up for PvP for no real reason now. Sad day might be done with classic. (WSG has 15 minute ques)

Casuals were not going to achieve any PvP rank worth getting regardless.

Were you expecting pvp ranking to be a thing for casuals in the first place?

Because anything past rank 7 usually requires 5+ hours daily.

Who could had seen that coming.

15m queues is not bad for a horde queue. korrak’s in retail’s queue is quite a bit longer than that. and it’s a limited time event that awards a mount. it’ll be interesting to see how much their queues go up as ally stop queueing because they got all the loot they wanted.

Luckily I play Alliance, get my rep gear and never bother again. Horde can sit there waiting forever.

You realize WSG rep is like… months of grinding right? Source : 2 Justicar/Conqueror toons on retail.

You get 205 rep per WIN (35x3 + 100 for the 3 token turn ins). Wins that can take anywhere from 10 mins to half an hour to obtain. Not counting the losses.

LMAO this MUST be a troll post. How in the world did you expect battlegrounds to drop and still have a chance to rank up as a casual player? Your time to rank as a casual player was with wPvP when it was difficult to find a target. Now with battlegrounds targets and honor are presented to any player with the patience to wait through the short wait list…Honor rankings have and always will go to the players who put the most time in. If you cant match the time commitment then you wont get to rank up. The AV content dropping doesnt change the fact that some players are going to no life and play 6-10 hours a day. Those players have just shifted their focus to the most rewarding honor farm which is currently AV. You saying that has ruined rankings for you proves you dont quite grasp how the ranking system works

Doing something casually while expecting to reach the top of its ladder is both entitled and facetious. Even “skill based” systems like Elo rewards time investment because someone who plays a game for 3000 hours will naturally be better at it than someone who spent only 30 hours on it within the same time frame.

there was a thread earlier asking to get rid of the grind completely and just use marks to buy the pvp tier. lol. there’s a game for that if you want the easy way. :stuck_out_tongue:

Give our original AV back

Casuals don’t rank anyway

PvP ranking was NEVER for casuals. I did the grind to rank 10 in vanilla. That took grinding BGs for several hours every day.

Hit Knight Captain in Vanilla…

Wasn’t worth the effort.

Then again, i’d like to have a chance to rank up by actually PvPing, not by playing a running simulator.

1.12 AV RUINED PVP RANKINGS FOR CASUALS
Wrong. Nothing in this game is more casual friendly than AV.

WSG is hardcore premade farming.
World PvP was hardcore premade farming.
AV is telling people in raid chat to clear elites while killing drekthar in 6-8 minutes and picking up 3k honor for it.

QED

Actually OP has a point. PRe CRBGs, a premade that played for hours a day can match 24/7 account sharers as they’d be winning more honour than the afkers were getting from losing

Long queue times had the function of regulating afker/ account sharers since games werent popping so much
