🤔 Alpha Testers Already Not Motivated To Run Torghast

Getting sick of coming home from work to try and play a game to relax only to get even more stressed out cause of crap like timers. Not fun. But keep bleeding subs to try to legitimize yourselves as an esport.

WF /TF sucked and I’m a World Questing Random Battleground LfR hero .

I maybe have 6 or 7 normal bosses over all raids this expansion and I believe those are in Uldir and Ny’alotha only.

Best thing that BfA has done for me is make me realise if the content isnt to my tastes, “I aint doin’ it”, ikr, took me a while to get to that point. That means if towers suck, thats right…

While I’m not in alpha, It does seem like there are bigger issues in Torghast to fix based on the videos I’ve seen so far.

I think the torments should have been used as a means to even out the curve in the tower, it seems like they could have used as a means to slow us down from steam rolling things as we aquire the anima powers

So you’d hit 50 anima powers and you’d get hit with a torment to slow you down, then another at 75, then 100, then 110, etc keeping the challenge up as you progress

seems like addressing the problem they’re using torments for currently would have been better served as something to wait and see how bad it is before jumping on it.

That wasn’t my point. If you don’t intend to do the harder difficulties you shouldn’t see the timers at all anyway because they aren’t in that content.

Do you even know what difficulty is in game design?

Hint: It is not timers.

Do you even know what they said about these torments? Did you even read the blue post about their aim? I suggest you do because I am not going to waste any more time on trying to explain that you likely won’t have a timer of any sort in the torghast you do.

I’m perfectly capable of reading corporate speak, yes. I strongly suggest you waste some time and look up the definition of “timer” and how time was measured through history.

Taking everything verbatim an authority figure tells you is a bad plan in life, too. Just fyi.

I am playing alpha.

oh so they don’t fancy plowing thru 100+ levels of a dungeon

PER CHARACTER

MULTIPLE TIMES PER WEEK?

wowzer i never saw that coming…

timers suck and should stay in m+. The whole torment thing is probably Ions idea since he pretty much only cares about method tier metas. Why would you ruin the experience for most people just because 0.5 % of players might wait for cds every pull

Two alpha testers have issues with it so it affects the entire alpha testing community.

Big-brained take, here.

And yet they did. They specifically said there would be no timers, that we could do it at our own pace. That is indeed a promise as it was stated as fact by blizz. So yeah they promised.

He isnt wrong.

It actually is though…

He asked if people who’ve experience “time pressure mechanisms” in Torghast liked/enjoyed those “time pressure mechanisms”.

The Torment is the “time pressure mechanism”. And he wants to know if anyone has anything positive to say about that (likes/enjoys it).

I think you have a failure to comprehend the nuance of many posts you choose to reply to then start arguments to push your view without actually fully understanding what the person you’re responding to is saying. You seem to do this quite often.

repeat building “content” where you progress through arbitrary walls and blocks over time is the biggest hamster wheel. I hate these systems, I will not step foot in torg. I also hate the M+ system.

It wasn’t in terms of the response I gave him which he wasn’t happy with. If you can’t see that then I am sorry but you came into the middle of a conversation.

Yes it was. He said, and has continued to quote, his original response to someone that was not you, asking for someone to ask people who are in Alpha to let us know, here where we can also respond, if they have run Torghast and have anything positive to say about torments.

You just can’t read.

And you can’t understand what a timer is.

Were you also super mad throughout the years over the timers that have been in the game since 2005, you know, enrage timers… because they are essentially the same except these new timers have a visible clock but still allow you to finish the instance. Groups didn’t usually finish if they hit the enrage timer.
