If that is the case… Then they’re not truly Void Elves but High Elves or even Blood Elves that “dabbled” with void magic. Which, fair, is a good idea and can limit customizations but that actually proves points I had about this. Over and over… Void Elves, the true Void Elves, infused with the Void like they were going to become the next Demon Hunters, of the Void, cannot be Paladins. They just become time bombs… So unless they pull a new spec solely to mimic like how Priests are, practitioners of the Light but can also use the Void to use shadow magic.
So, it just becomes a mess at this point in trying to conceive a reason to add Paladins and skirt by using examples but have literally no grounds that is because we’re talking about mixing the two things that caused a “Big Bang” that supposedly created The Twisting Nether.
Void Elves are made up of Horde Blood Elves & Alliance High Elves
Void Elf Paladin Anti’s like to ignore that canonically, playable Void Elves come from two different populations.
The first being the Void Infused Blood Elves seen during the Allied Race Questline, and the second being High Elf Wayfarers who are not Void Infused but rather are dabbling in the Void, hence the introduction of High Elf skin tones, eye colors, hair colors, and the option to remove tentacles from our hair.
This goes hand in hand with Blizzard making Sandfury Trolls & Wildhammer Dwarves playable through the addition of customization options.

Void Elf Paladins are recruited Telogrus Rift High Elf Wayfarers
It is clear to everyone that the Void Infused Blood Elf population of Void Elves would not be able to be paladins, however the High Elf Wayfarers lore-wise would be able to.
A Void Elf Paladin hailing from the High Elf Wayfarer population would be the equivalent of a Discipline Priest. Light & Void are forces that can be utilized by the same individual as long as it is done with care, as seen by Anduin Wrynn, usage of the Netherlight Crucible, and the Priest order of The Conclave made up of masters of the Light & embracers of the Void,
“For light cannot exist without darkness, and darkness without light.”
It was only after M’uru was imprisoned and the Blood Knights were established that Blood Elves were able to worship the Light through the power of the renewed Sunwell.
‘Lady Liadrin was forced to seek out another source of power for the Blood Knights. She spoke with A’dal in Shattrath City, asking for forgiveness for M’uru’s imprisonment, and renounced her loyalties to the blood elves’ twisted prince.
‘A’dal revealed that M’uru’s imprisonment was foretold by Prophet Velen of the draenei; M’uru willingly accepted his role in the events that unfolded, knowing that it would lead to the elves’ redemption and lead them away from the dark fate awaiting Kael’thas and his minions, many of whom were now twisted by the Burning Legion.
Liadrin observed the sight of the defiled and destroyed Sunwell, lamenting that the blood elven people may never atone for the sin they had committed in damning M’uru to his fate. Prophet Velen then revealed the “heart of M’uru”; unblemished and pure. It was channelled into the Sunwell, and in a massive blaze of light, the blood elves’ fount of power was restored.
Liadrin and the Blood Knights pledged to fight alongside the Shattered Sun Offensive in defeating Kael’thas and his demonic master Kil’jaeden.’

I cannot see how Void Elves can become Paladins, without Blizz just throwing all lore-regulated Race/ Class barriers to the wind!
And if so, I eagerly await Blood Elven Druids and Shaman. Very eagerly.
Yeah, I am not too sure on this either. Though there is contradicting parts of the lore too, if Blizzard would have to do something like this, then they would have to completely rework on the lore, which will confuse some people, as well as cause more outrage and fights on the forums.
Until now, there’s no indication that the wayfarers and scholars in-game want to be void elves
Why accept void but reject fel? Is madness more acceptable than rage?
Why accept being (Blood Elf)² that are the Void Elves?
“Dwarf” and “Troll” are core races and are both generic race tags. “Void Elf” is an allied race refers to very specific group. Devs can add Outland customizations to orcs and it would still be fine to call them all as “Orc”
Imagine adding Taunka/Yaungol customizations to Highmountain Tauren. Would it be fine to just call them “Highmountain Tauren”?
Our Lead Narrative Designer has already confirmed Void Elf ranks are growing from outside Elves seeking power. Ren’dorei is a political name same as Sin’dorei, they’re all Thalassians.
Steve Danuser interview with Polygon regarding Void Elf Population
“There’s just one question: If they come from a small group of Silvermoon Exiles, how are they an Allied Race? Where do the numbers come from?”
“They start out as a small group,” Danuser continues. “But it’s natural as other elves have found out about them — elves who are interested in new sources of magic, power, or opportunities — would see if they could undergo a similar process.”
-Steve Danuser, Lead Narrative Designer for World of Warcraft
Those wouldn’t be Void Elves then, they’d be High Elves, and that ship sailed when they started adding HE customization options to VEs. Holy and Void magic are completely incompatible with each other, VE Priests are only allowed because of Shadow spec and all VE Priests are canonically shadow even though players have Holy and Disc available for gameplay reasons.
I’m sorry to say it, but the simple fact is that the only way VE Paladins would make sense is if the devs gave Paladins a 4th spec and made it shadow themed, which is something I’m 100% in favor of but is also a lot more work for the devs. I suppose they could also simply make shadow themed glyphs for all Paladin abilities and use that to justify it, but that wouldn’t be as satisfying as a new spec would be.
