Priests CHANNEL the Light for small amounts of time.
Paladins are INFUSED with it.
Not the same thing.
Quit arguing if you don’t know how this stuff works.

Also, Jennifer’s Body.
This is false.
They use the light the same way, and Paladins aren’t infused with the Light.
That’s interesting speculation.
Source?
Paladins aren’t infused with the light. There is no fundamental difference between a paladin and priest other than how they use the light in the field. The Silver Hand ceremony is that of a blessing (akin to giving someone a buff), not an infusion.
Of Blood and Honor (Chapter 2):
Arthas: Rise of the Lich King (Part 1: Chapter 5):
The rest of the book makes a point that the light flows through him or he’s channeling it etc. Same as priests.
Had he been infused, why would he need to learn to accept, channel, and direct the light? Seems like it’d only be directing.
The first Human Paladins were literally just Warrior + Priest
Tides of Darkness (Chapter 5)
And just so you’re aware there is zero statement about the ORIGINAL paladins of the Church, mentioned above, having gone through the ceremony mentioned twice earlier. This implying that the ceremony was created afterwards, and that again it isn’t necessary for one to be a Paladin.
Eh. I think people are assuming because it’s on the other side of the cosmology chart that it’s mutually exclusive. But that’s giving both Fel and Undead a lot of leeway for being on the sides.
Elves… Dark Trolls infused with the arcane energies of the Well of Eternity don’t explode when they become Demon Hunters.
Those are two opposite ends of the cosmology chart.
Right now the only canon information that suggests that light and shadow magic can’t jive is Alleria, saying that if she’s in void form being around Turalyon is painful.
But undead using light magic is painful and that’s not stopping Foal or Sir Zeliak from swinging the light like Uther suggested.
There isn’t really any canon source thats describing what you’re saying and there are canon sources that contradict it.
You keep using that word. You also keep ignoring Blood Knights.
Follow your own advice.
Correct.
Great post. Good citations.
Nevermind. I looked again. I do like it after all.
We are never getting void elf paladins. Never. I now accept this fate. I have decided to give up trying to convince everybody.
I started a blood elf paladin.
I believe we will. Based on Ion’s recent response. I just don’t know if it will be enough to bring me back whenever it happens.
Given Blizzard stating when asked about new classes that they’re considering it I’d not rule it out yet.
Kinda curious to see what happens there.
I hate waiting. I wanna live NOW!
I think we’re getting them eventually too. I just hope they are void paladins, but I wouldn’t mind the regular kind either.
Survival should just be renamed Dragoon, and be given Jump as a move, and no I won’t be taking feedback.
I agree with this.
I want to make sure that night elf paladins are remembered as well. I would love to see them. It will be interesting to see how the devs handle more elf paladin races (which I would like to see happen soon).
I would LOVE TO SEE THAT!!! Have their spells be Elune themed whilst riding a Saber!
I’d like for this same logic to apply to universally everything. Or at the very least more than what is currently restrictive.
I’m a power hungry Undead Death Knight. I should in theory find a way to consume fel to give me some muscles and become an Undead Demon Hunter.
Only if we get more Druid races
My Proposed Druid Races:
Alliance:
Gnomes (Cub druid forms)
Mecha-Gnomes (Mecha druid Forms)
Voidelf (For the hilarity of tentacled druid forms)
Pandaren (Because why not Pandarens?)
Horde:
Vulpera (Same reason as Pandaren)
Undead (Rotting druid forms)
Bloodelf (Already in the game and lore)
Pandaren (see above)
Those two are like: Immovable Object meets Unstoppable Force if you put the word survival and dragoon together literally.
Functional wise however:
Dragoons can’t survive, and neither can Survival spec Hunters.
