“The resting blade” is bugged
Even though it’s glowing yellow but the thing is that you can’t click on it and collect it and complete the quest and so I don’t know how any other way to explain this problem.
I’ve tried everything from:
Abandoning and reaccepting
Reload
Exit game / relog
Having the same issue, nothing seems to work for me
Im gonna try going into warmode, it worked for the cartogrophers film that had the same issue, ill report back shortly.
Confirmed, went back to val, turned warmode on and I was able to pick it up. You might need to turn it on and off a couple times for it to work, thats what I had to do for the film earlier.

Worked for me too
I can’t pick it up, even in war mode
I had to go back to Val turn Warmode On then Off then headed back to the quest item where I was able to pick up finally and complete.

Just to confirm it worked had to go to Val first then wait a min after entering warmode then went back down and it worked
Was bugged for me too. Had to fly back and forth between quest/wrathion and Valdrakken toggling war mode on and off a few times before it finally worked. Finally got it on the third time of doing that.
I must be stupid. I’ve going back and forth between val and the place where the dagger is and I’m still unable to pick the f* thing. It’s really frustrating…
What I’m doing is:
When I arrive at the item the little horde shield is still on my character frame, does that have anything to do with it?
Any help is appreciated
I had the same issue, I did it a good number of times but it only let me pick it up once I let the timer for war mode run out. I don’t know if it was a coincidence or not though.

Did you go back with the timer on or leave Val once rhe timer stopped?

War mode either on or off still doesn’t work.
None of these suggestions worked such a shame blizz should be an easy fix been broken for two days like come on
It was bugged for me too. Tried heaps of different ways to fix it - about 6 trips between quest location and Val. This is what worked for me:
Enter and exit warmode in valdraken with quest active. (I had already picked up Ebon Eviscerator).
Wait in Val for the 5 min shield on character portrait to disappear.
Head back underground and you should be able to loot it.
