Both obviously.
Live the American dream, put yourself in debt for a bit lol
Part of me wants to wait for the 6800xt to pair it with a zen 3 cpu but currently owning a 5700XT im not the biggest fan of AMD radeon software.
I don’t trust microcenter’s online inventory count, but if you’re able to snag one…
3080 will be in high demand for quite sometime, seeing as how claimed inventory are under 500 gpu per restock. You can always resell for how much you bought it for at a minimum (for now). ASUS TUF models are highly sought after as well if you manage to snag that.
Example for EVGA’s queue system is they drop about 20-30 cards a day base on those who reported back to the community excel sheet. And supplies dwindle once it hits Friday again base on the reports.
it actually is a TUF model if inv is correct. Might just snag the 3080 for now and maybe resell if the 6800xt good enough for me to overlook amd software.
Seems like Microcenter in Tustin, CA has a fair amount of 5600x and 5800x in stock bundled with their $20 discount if you purchase a motherboard.
Seems like x570/b550 boards will work with these out of the box? No bios update for my x570 board.
I wish I had a microcenter nearby. Although maybe that would be a bad thing.
Unfortunately this is the week I won’t be down near Microcenter. Though I might make a special case + bribe the SO with some good sushi to drive down there.
6+hour round trip here i come…
I nabbed myself a 5950X, I get to go pick it up tuesday.
Anyone see comparable benchmarks at 4k? I am wondering if the 5950X will beat out the 10900K at 4k resolution in fps for WoW.
In WoW, no. But here’s 4k in other games:

RIP i5 10600k. Just as Intel was giving people a reason to buy an i5 again.
That Ryzen 5 5600x truely is a gaming monster.
If they cut it to $200, it will still be a good cheap option. Especially since the 5600x is $300 and will come with a mostly useless modern Wraith Stealth cooler.
Based on most reviews, it is still not as big a difference from the 5600x in gaming than the 3600 was from the 10600k.
The 10600k would essentially fill the role of the Ryzen 5 3600, with the 5600x taking the 10600k’s old spot.
Normally I would agree, but the Ryzen 5 5600x is beating the i9 10900k in games, competing with the i7 10700k in multi core benchmarks, and on a superior platform. All while being significantly cheaper than both and consuming less power.
And the 3600 never beat anything at games. It was just “good enough and cheap”.
The point is if the 10600k is dropped to around $200, it will fill the role of the “good cheap option” since you’ll need a cooler for both and the 5600x is $300.
Will Intel price drop the i5 10600k though? I don’t know if they will, rumor has it they are waiting for 11th gen, which launches around Q2 2021.
They probably will. I could see $249 at least on the 10600k, as an interim sales competitor until 11th gen.
It would drop their Average Sale Price, which Intel really can’t afford right now. At least during this Holiday season where every thing sells, i can’t see them dropping prices right now.
Seems they are already dropping a bit - some outlets are already $249
Great, now if they can bundle in a fan they’re on the right track.
Normally I’d champion the included coolers, but AMD decided to drop all of them save for their worst offering, the nerfed Wraith Stealth on the 5600x, which is really no better than the Intel box cooler that the community has almost universally considered throw-away.
