Would you be angry if Reforged got delayed 2020?

Honest question.

Honestly.

Itā€™s not the worst thing in the world since I have other things I can do instead, but I would be annoyed. Iā€™m banking on my beta release date prediction

Iā€™ll get crucified for this, but tentative ā€˜noā€™ unless itā€™s like. A summer or fall 2020 date.

Crunch is bad for developers and games, as one reason. The other is just polishing which would be a good reason. And the third Iā€™d be interested in is more original content in the form of maybe working on/releasing a few initial parts of a downloadable campaign if they do want to do that with Reforged.

Doom Eternal looked pretty set up for November this year but I appreciate the integrity of coming out and going ā€œhey weā€™re not entirely happy with it so we know you guys wonā€™t be happy with itā€, for example.

Other video games exist and while all this mined stuff sort of rekindled the hype train a bit for me, itā€™s not the end of the world in the hypothetical of a delay.

Iā€™ll amend my answer. I wouldnā€™t be annoyed as long as the beta was out in 2019. So I have some Reforged to play even if I know itā€™s a WIP

Doom Eternal is actually what propped up this question in my mind.

I was really looking forward to the Nov. release, but Iā€™m actually appreciative that they pushed it to March to give it some more love. Also doesnā€™t hurt that it now releases on my birthday.

As for Reforged, I was waiting for Black Friday 2020 for a purchase so it doesnā€™t affect me whatsoever. I just wanted to see how many tears to expect once they announce it.

For someone who is on these forums quite a bit, I admire your patience on planning to wait almost an entire year after Reforgedā€™s release to buy the game.

Doom Eternal - I am still in Denial about it. It will take me awhile to get through those 5 stages.

As for Reforged; my only problem is that the developers have been pretty much mute about it for a entire year. If they were more involved with the community up to this point then I might be more forgiving like I am with the Id developers.

Iā€™d be annoyed, but no. The original release window seemed too good to be true anyway. Considering the information drought weā€™ve been sitting onā€¦ with the enormous space-hopper levels of Warcraft Reforged blue-balls I haveā€¦ another half year is fine.
Iā€™d be a lot more forgiving though if we got some additional content to go with the wait. Something like a Warchasers Reforged or a small 6 bonus mission campaign.
Some actual content. Maybe something for ladder too, like a nice fat balance patch that really freshens up the gameplay, SC2 style.

Heck no!! If the team needs more time then delay blizzard!! So idiots would be mad but most people would understand.

Tbh I donā€™t wanna know in what kind of development hell this game has been or maybe still is. Developing new stuff on such an old code basis is quite frustrating and complicated due too many limitations modern projects simply wouldnā€™t have.
Iā€™m pretty sure the long silcence is the result of huge problems within the development otherwise they would have released some kind of alpha or beta way sooner just like they planned at first.

The new multiplayer UI in the starcraft remastered needed 1 additional year of treatment before it finally didnā€™t lag anymore (e.g. in the beginning you needed to wait around 1 minute to see someones profile stats) so yeahā€¦ they should take all the time they need.

Yes. I love WC3, but there are many, many other games available now that I would enjoy. If it got delayed, thereā€™s a very good chance I would just focus on another few games and end up no longer caring about reforged. Heckā€¦A Year of Rain actually looks pretty good. I think Iā€™d play that instead.

Honestly, modding is the only reason I have for WC3R.

I donā€™t nearly have enough time for gaming as I used to, and real life doesnā€™t even offer much time even for modding. Itā€™s not a hurry for me. Most of my gaming nowadays is done on Switch or on the phone.

Iā€™d be annoyed but delaying a game is always better than rushing a game.

Somewhat disappointed? Sure. Angry? Noā€¦ Especially when you consider that making a video game is allot of work. Also, whining because the game isnā€™t out yet actually is entitlement.

it would not surprise me at all. it would possibly result in some more respect towards me.

Nope, canā€™t be angry at uncertainty. Iā€™m just neutral towards Reforged. Iā€™m not expecting anything. Just a mild curiosity followed by the questions ā€œWhy doesnā€™t Warcraft IV exist yet and why does Reforged have to exist before WC IV?ā€

Miyamoto is right.
So yes, annoyed but delays is better than any rush job.

I would be enraged.

A whole year of zero (0) meaningful news and then LOL WAIT FOR 2020 XDXD would be untenable.

Sadly, I wouldnā€™t be that surprised at this point. Blizz seem absolutely in the gutter these days.

Last yearā€™s Blizzcon may not have been the nadir. Reforged was the one great thing of last yearā€™s disaster.

All we need now is for Hong Kong protesters and Starcraft Mobile and then it will be done.

Blizzcon is just over two weeks away, Blizz. You will soon be tested.

I mean theyā€™ve been pretty tested with Battle For Azerothā€™s rocky performance (and all the criticism that came with it so far), the laying off of 800 employees, the abrupt canning of the HGC, Diablo Immortal, last yearā€™s BlizzCon in general being really dull, the Blitzchung situation, now the college team incident, and Iā€™m sure Iā€™m missing some too.
