Ive encountered the constant crashing in the elf expansion mission 5. Now im in the f irst Human Mission Misconceptions - until that mission i could end them by setting my graphics low, but now i cant do anything even with all graphics set on low…im really disappointed that they still didnt fix it . Love the campaign, but right now i cant even procede one mission…
They still didn’t fix it lmao, what sh*t show. So Blizzard’s support team for Warcraft 3 Reforged is based in Thailand now? Anyway have to cheat my way through 4th chapter in Terror of the Tides (Wrath of Betrayer) and now what? Should I do the same with this mission? How many missions are bugged. Are you kidding Blizzard? 3 years after re-release 50y old game? Just I don’t know… Get bought by Microsoft or something already. Or just release u guys some hot fix how you should 2y ago. Wake up.

Hello everyone. Yesterday I also experienced crashes during the first Maiev (Warden, Night elf mission). But, after saving the game often and rushing through the map quickly, i managed to finish that scenario. (they were crashes to desktop)
Same cannot be said about the Human Campaign with Kael… It crashed an absurd amount of times (and this time, it was not only crash to desktop, but sometimes with computer freeze so i had to restart every time)
Being a senior QA in the gaming industry, i decided to wait until today (Saturday) and took it upon myself to waste 2-3 hours of my life and help out.
Short answer and the workaround: NEVER click on the minimap, or double tap a control unit, or any other action that jumps your camera to another location. If you only do the mission by panning around the screen with the mouse, it will likely not crash.
Detailed view. Issues I found:
- Moving the camera to a different part of the map has a high chance of crashing the game (do not click on minimap, do not click on idle workers, do not double tap control groups, when you want to move the camera just move the mouse to the side of the screen that you wish to pan to)
- If you save the game (or expect it to crash), do NOT repair the observatories because apparently that is done also while you are not in game, so when Loading a saved file, it might require a lot of RAM and crash
What i mean is: if you have a worker repair the observatory and it it as 100 / 10.000 HP, if you save the game, when you Load back in, the PC will have a huge lag and the observatory will be instantly at 100% HP … or your game will crash because of the instant RAM requirement being too high - If your observatories are repaired but you still have 0 / 3 as objectives, just attack them once and then repair back up. This will count towards the quest objective
- Changing the graphics from Reforged to Classic, could have been a perfect workaround. However this will NOT save your mission progress (they act as separate saved files, which is dumb and unnecessary. Most people will not want to start from 0 again just because they switch graphic types)
Hope this helps. Shame on you Blizzard… These are obvious S1P0 (crashes, in the main story of the campaign)

Well, actually, if you bootleg the 2020 or 2021 versions of Reforged made by what was left of real Blizzard people before Activision let go Team 1 or whatever, that older version of the Reforged did not have these issues, ha!
So, maybe it’s more like, shame on Activision…

Same missions still crashing almost a year later!!! how??? everyone just showing up to work and sitting on their butts still trying to fornicate the new women at office I guess instead of doing their job. Hey everyone we made this game and sold it to you for $40 and it has never worked… What a bunch of loserssssssssssssssss

Got stuck into Undead campaign mission Fall of Silvermoon, the game crashes like crazy, I have to save like every 4 minutes, it’s so horrible.

Try turning spell effects to low, and deleting the crash log folder.
I experienced a lot of these crashes related to the mini map as well. It’s actually making me not want to continue, in case the freaking game bricks my PC at this rate.
Tried ti play campaign today I am stuck on this exact level. Crashed 3 times now.
I have a 3080 and 32gb of ram…
Blizzard you are an absolute joke.
It’s bad enough you become a woke azz company that caters to the lefties who will harass you if they find out you don’t bow to their rhetoric but you even broke your wc3 game that was already a rip off to begin with.
So what can I do besides not play the game because I literally can’t get through 10 mins of this level without it CTD

Only Edge Scrolling. No instant view change like, map click, idle worker click etc. helped me not to crash in the “misconception” mission.
So, Literally one year later, and this STILL has not been fixed. I thought for sure that after A FREAKING ENTIRE YEAR, someone at Blizzard would see a thread that has 14.5 K hits, and try to fix the problem. NOPE, they don’t give a damn. 365 + days later, STILL NO FIX. Come on, are you a tiny little indie studio, or are you the top name in PC gaming? Fix your house you clowns. One year? That’s a JOKE!
First of all, it ain’t Blizz working on Reforged anymore, it’s an Australian studio called Playside. It’s been oursourced.
Second, they’ve been busy fixing the remaining issues in MP and Observer Mode. Campaign has been put at the bottom of the list – somewhat understandibly since most people play MP and if you gotta prioritize what to fix it’s gonna be that.
It was a terrible move to put the game on sale and recall the special refund policy, thereby incentivizing new people to buy the game and play the campaign, without fixing the crashes beforehand. No wonder there’s a new wave of people reporting the crashes.
But we know the team is fixing that crashes at this very moment, so whenever the next patch comes that’s when it’s gonna get fixed.
Campaing in the Patch 1.36 Keeping crashing. Blizard or Playside when you gonna resolve this stupid crashes? Has been past 3 years who this game was release. Why this f… Shi… keep crashes.

Such a horrible company… its unreal that THEY released a patch like…1-2 years ago ? And THAT patch made the campaigns unplayable. And since then, they have not fixed it.
100% just some intern they got working part time forgot to put a 1 instead of a 0 in the code and now all 8 of us left wanting to play this cant actually do so. Even tho we payed for the game.
Ofc Blizzard outsourced it. Too busy stealing breastmilk to fix their own game.
I’m probably going to refund this game and download a functional version, or I don’t know what else we can do when they don’t solve it for 1 and a half years
seems like they actually fixed the reforged campaign now. Dont have any issues at the moment!
