Unique models for lore characters that don't have them in WC3

I would like for Reforged to stay as close to the original WC3 as possible, but I would love to see some characters, that have a good place in lore, and didn’t have unique models in WC3 to get them.

I’m talking about Vol’jin, Nazgrel, Engineer Gazlowe, Baine Bloodhoof, Shandris, Naisha, Kel’Thuzad(necromancer), Sylvanas(banshee), Jailor Kassan, and maybe even Paladins of Silver Hand.

I think those characters deserve to have unique models, and I believe that it would make campaign look and feel way better. Because I want to separate Nazgrel from regular Raider, Kel’Thuzad from regular necromancer(he had different coloring in wc3 only), Baine from Cairne(in ‘Founding of Durotar’ he is just smaller Cairne), Engineer Gazlowe from ordinary Goblin Sappers etc.

I think everyone or at least most of people would love to see this change.

I moved this topic here from ‘General discussion’ since I think it fits better here.

I agree. It’s a good call.

For Gazlowe they could simply replace him with whatever they come up with for the Thinker hero.
Kel’thuzad I think is just fine as a recolored necromancer with hero glow, just like what he is in the original.
Bane sure does need a unique model. He will probably get it, as a young Tauren Chieftain skin for melee as well.

I just want to say the following:
Vol’jin uses basic witch doctor model and I think he could use withc doctor model but with samoe extra detail which will make him stand out
Gazlowe, I agree, can use some kind of a tinker model.
Baine Bloodhoof could use something more or less original and new.
Shandris has her own model in some missions only for some reason which looks like Night Elf Sylvanas.
Naisha - my idea here is the same as with Vol’jin.
Kel’Thuzad(necromancer) - he has his special model. He’s a necromancer definetly and he looks and should look like one.
Sylvanas(banshee) - she used white ghost model whic makes her stand out from other banshee. I think she could use some kind of banshee model that looks more like her alive version.
Jailor Kassan - the same idea as for Baine.
Paladins of Silver Hand - some of them have different hair colour.

But the main think is to make everything recognizable and as close to the oroginal as possible trying to avaod WoW looks that completly change characters’ appearance.

Yes, I support these changes. Now it’s the time to make these units stand out

Since we agree on Baine, Vol’jin and Gazlowe, I’ll talk about other characters that I mentioned.

Shandris could look a little different than just a recolored version of Sylvanas. No big changes, but could use a face that’s a little different and some other details, nothing drastic.
Kel’Thuzad(necromancer) should look like a necromancer, but a necromancer that is different at least a little bit from regular necromancer unit. Not just different texture and glow, different staff, face, or robe…
Paladins are also recolors in original. Their faces could be unique and differentiate one from another.

I’m not a big fan of WoW, and I’m not asking to change those models to how they are in WoW, but so many characters sharing models is a thing that bothered me in original all those years ago. So, I am, as I said before, for keeping everything as close to the original as possible, but changes like the ones I mentioned are not harming lore, nor melee games I think. As for custom games, they could always use more unique models, the only problem arises there, because adding unique models could possibly affect playability of Reforged custom maps on Original WC3, but I believe that Reforged team could find a solution for that.
