Top 3 custom games you are hoping to play again

So as we all know Warcraft III’s multiplayer has been pretty much dead on custom game’s side for years perhaps with the exception of the very few of the most popular customs.

What are some of your old favorites (and less known) that you used to play and want to play again?

  1. Darwin’s Island (evolve to bigger and stronger creep (randomized) by killing critters, other creeps and other players, to race against other players to reach lvl 11 choose from one of the big bosses like Kil’jaeden and small army of other creatures to wipe out the rest of the players before they have chance to do the same)

  2. Uther’s Party (Warcraft’s very own Mario Party, there even used to be a version around where you could troll/cheat against other players by controlling the AI, which used to give me some good laughs back in the day :D)

  3. Helm’s Deep (well anyone who has seen LOTR knows what this is about, defend Helms deep together with 6 other players, while 2-3 other players controlled the orcs attacking the fort)

These 3 along with different Mauls (tower defense games) is what I used to spend most of my time with while playing customs. Darwin’s Island especially is my absolute favorite, cause you get to play as randomized creeps with all of their abilities and you never knew what sort of creature you would evolve into, which made each game bit different. The level 11 options were also all great in their own right and sometimes you might not have even wanted to be the first to get to lvl 11 but try to survive long enough just below that to see other players fighting againtst eachother first before finishing them off. I never grew tired of playing this custom :smiley:

Old dota. Not which it became in valves hands(at the start it was awesome, but now).
Castle Fight. My favorite map. So stylish and replayble.

I really liked that uh… Heroes and Empires or something? You can choose to play as a Kingdom, or a singular hero. The hero can do some limited building and go around and be badass, but it’s the Empire that eventually ends up growing big enough to defeat the final bad guys. You could go around looking for resources like wood and stone to build buildings as well.

That was a fun game, even though it was long. I don’t quite remember the name.

Also all those Island Troll survivors, Life of a Peasant, Enfos and Mauls would be nice. I haven’t played a Maul in years, and I miss my super convoluted mazes.

There were so many of them it’s hard to pick top 3, but it would probably be as following:

  1. DotA - Well not much has to be said. Hands down the most popular custom map ever made, that gave birth to a whole new genre. Played it for 6 years (and continued for couple more on DOTA 2). Interested to see how it would hold up in Reforged.
  2. Enfo’s TS - This was the very first custom map I played with other people and it was with friends in a LAN party. It holds a lot of nostalgia for me.
  3. Uther’s party - Endless replayable fun.
