It is hard to see that Blizzard needs over a half year for the bugs and for the ladder, profile etc.
But that they dont get until now a hidden MMR System in the Versus mode is really a bad joke.
I played my 6th game and gets matched with players who have the 200 wins versus Avatar.
This release spoils all the new player.
I am really like the new grafics and want to learn the game.
But gets kicked the &%$ the hole time, with not a bit of chance is very frustrating.
I guess the most of the new players takes that for a week, and then after 8/10 looses, they never come back.
To learn it in singleplayer mode makes also not really sense.
The AI on normal (100%) is a joke,
but then the AI on insane (50%) is pain in the $&%, who i defeat 1 of 3 times atm.
They clearly showed they have no idea what they’re doing. They took away features and players would rather play the 2003 version as opposed to the 2020 version. If you wanna learn the game, too bad. They provided no support or insights for new players. The models were outsourced and they still havent found out how to optimize the performance. They’ve spent years doing nothing and released the game in a alpha state. They are scrapping together profiles, ladder and clans (next months news update) and most likely abandoning the project.
If you’re a new player just give up. Theres no support.
Our community manager has time to post on twitter every day but doesnt even respond to the general discussion. They clearly don’t care
I have not had any issues with matchmaking. The only issue I have no far is RT vs. AT. That ruins the experience when it happens but outside of that I’ve had good results.
I am complete new to the game. (Didnt finish the TFT campaingn),
and then i should go to w3champions??
Yeah there are several divisions, I think about 18 divisions for Europe. It’s better to always play in the lowest division, than more often than not get superior enemies on Battle.net.
You can also check out gym dot back2warcraft dot com for build orders and lots of other information about wc3.
The problem are not the winrate.
I was actually asking the other guy who said that he doesn’t have problems lol.
There’s only a cosmetical difference between classic and Reforged.
There’s nothing on Battle.net, there’s only ladder on w3champions.
No dude, the classic client is dead. It can’t connect to Bnet anymore. w3champions only works with Reforged. Just download and install the w3champions launcher and that’s it!
If you might not have known: you can switch the graphics from classic to Reforged in the settings, it’s only cosmetic.
Nice, I have the creepjacked website open in a tab.
Most oldschoolers (like me also) think that the new graphics are trash. Everything is brown and gray, so it’s much harder to differentiate units. In classic I can clearly see the difference between a footman, a militia and a skeleton, while in Reforged it’s much harder to see to me. And then there’s crap like spellbreakers being super red and the actual player colour being barely visible. These additional “details” aren’t worth the hassle, and I never had a problem with the old graphics, I think they’re cool.
And I believe most wc3 fans are oldschoolers as well.
It is not superior. It is just different. Some people like the old look because it whas made for gaming, some like the new look because it whas mode look real. I read with manyWoW fans that they wish the Reforged graphics would be the new standard because it brings the immersion to the next level.
I mean, you made the point for me; “it was made for gaming”. The new models were made to look pretty, but RTS games don’t really need to be pretty and realistic. They need to be readable for 99% of the people. When Blizzard crapped all over the existing community and the pro-scene by making it nearly impossible to read what’s going on in battle, they’ve made it so a large slice can’t relate to the game and will fall back to what they know.
I’m fine with the Reforged models being for WoW, but not really sure how that relates to WC3 readability.
I’m almost positive that anyone that’s been playing the game since 2003-2005 (the people that kept the game alive all these years, actually) will prefer the old graphics. It’s the new people that Reforged brought in that don’t have a problem with the new graphics. That’s fine, but Blizzard can’t build a community by crapping all over those already in love with the game before.
So, in my mind they are superior, in that, those graphics kept the game alive for all these years. The new graphics will fade into obscurity…
Because it whas made for gaming does not mean that it is better. WoW is the other example the world whas first made for immersion and not mainly for gaming. Later the made the game more for gaming and people started until Classic more and more that WoW is not anymore a MMORPG anymore.
Would you then automatic say Retail WoW is better then Classic because it made more for gaming or is it just different?
It takes around 25 games to determine your skill and then game will place you with more even opponents. Until then it will match you anyone to see who you can win and who you cannot
First i thought the Matchmaking from the versus system is broken.
But it isn`t. It works.
There is a hidden MMR and with “!MMR” you can show it ingame:
And it worked fine.
5 wins in a row.
What is absoluttly not fine for beginners is the W3champions ladder.
There are just hardcore players.
I got 5 placingmatches (5 looses without a chance, matched with platin 1, gold 1, gold 6 and then 2 bronce)
and then i ranked in bronce 3.
But still to strong players.
2 looses later i am in bronce 6.
The problem is i get matched with bronce 1 players, cause their are not enough beginners like me in the ladder to matchup.
I talked a bit with the bronce players and one told me he maked over 200 matches in Versus before joining the w3c ladder and the other says he played for 2 years and called himself still a noob.
This game is hardcore. XD
But also hardcore fun.
The Adrenalin rushing through the veins… the joy after a win…
i never had this before by counter strike, hots, LoL, or any other game.
