They’re not removing anything. They’re only adding.
They’re not taking away any of those iconic characters, they’re just adding options where it makes sense in the lore. (i.e. Keepers of the Grove are exclusively male, as dryads are their female equivalent).
As it stands, there were women paladins and soldiers of Lordaeron who would’ve joined the Scourge as Death Knights.
There are female night elves who would have taken up the mantle of a Demon Hunter. etc.
People seem to be making all kind of hyperbolic claims, like “What, female death knights? While we’re at it, why don’t we have a trans paladin in a wheelchair?!” All this kind of argument does is make you appear to be desperately grasping at straws to justify your anger.
If you wanna be mad, be mad about how behind schedule they seem to be, but I’d sooner settle for a delay on a finished game than a piece of trash rushed out the door to meet deadlines.

Too be honest my man, most people don’t care. It’s like the same 50 people on here crying about it. Unfortunately, the type of people that are whining about petty garbage like this are more inclined to make forums posts over it. Personally, I view any new assets to the game as tools to be used in the world editor.

There were no women paladins in wc3.

If it’s actually 50 people that’s a lot. Imagine how many other people feel the same way. Still it would probably be best if they just added both sexes for every single hero unit. That way, few people could complain.

Did Blizzard ever state explicitly anywhere there weren’t?
Or was it more likely they only made a single paladin model for melee? Like how they only made a single model for every other unit and just went with male as the default option for practically everything.

Not really. People are going to be butt hurt regardless of what happens. That’s just the way things are.

I guess the real issues have nothing to do with the new models, but how Blizzard makes it feel like instead of focusing on delivering on the promises they made, they try throwing in some random eye-candy just so that people are still under the impression that something is happening/moving and that pre-ordering/buying the game was not a total scam…
Had they just polished the original game, the original textures/skins/cinematics/etc. AND AFTER add extra eye-candy and skins and customizations and whatever (with of course the options to choose whether you want to see the extra fluff - being able to toggle certain features on or off - or do you want a more “class experience”)… then I believe that way fewer people would have complained.
They are just doing it all wrong… in reverse-order. Instead of trying to deliver the original game with just a more modern look, UI, etc., they are instead trying to cover their f-ups by throwing in some random crap that no one was expecting, no one asked for, no one really wanted or cared to see in the initial release. Again, why not add the extra fluff after you have everything else figured out (in future updates/patches)? Cause they f-ed up and they are now trying to save their asses with weaksauce moves… that’s why.

But they removed reforged cinematics and cutscenes and some other promised features

What if in the actual game, we get female everything with 50% random probability? Female orc worker, female blademaster, female paladin, female everything with 50-50 probability.

There is no gender outrage, there is outrage over the removal of an iconic character model. the DK was one of the most popular models in the game along with others like the Tauren chieftain, priestess of the moon and demon hunter (also changed). It’s like changing the sentinels to all use swords, it kills the atmosphere and is a let down for those who wanted a remake of WC3.
This being “gendered” is actually a reaction from the other side of the debate as the replacement model was a female one and thus seen as inherently good and necessary by that side. Which is where the deliberately hyperbolic claims from the original side come from, something iconic was removed for some political reason or other so maybe all this other stuff is next?
Now maybe if there was confirmation that this is an optional extra (and we all love us some optional extras) then there would be no problem. But since every aspect of what reforged is has changed no announcement or old post somewhere can be seen as confirmation as such.

They are indeed removing. They are removing the ability to use a male death knight 100% of the time and the ability to have a male death knight as your profile picture. Yes, that is removing.

Where did Blizzard say that exactly? I want to see a source in WC2 or WC3 where Turalyon or Uther themselves say “no girls allowed”

It’s dumb but oh well, it’s there for fan art.
I’ll just say that a reason people might also be upset is because ziggurat-building animations are too big; coil, nova, and impale look terrible and feel underwhelming; you can’t see the crypt fiend’s attacks; and the undead are too gray.
But, despite all that, creating a female death knight was more important.

It really is wrongfully allocated resources.
You realise it’s not one person but a team working on the graphics right?
It’s not like the workflow for the rest of your complaints is being held up because of one modeler working on one of the playable DK models.
(Which again, people, Blizzcon was less than a week ago and Grubby, who has been in close contact with the dev team, has confirmed there is more than 1 generic model for every melee hero coming.)

Then what can we say? Go cry to your mommy that Blizzard is letting nasty womens into your Scourge
It honestly baffles me how some of you crying manchildren survived to adulthood

And then the game fails, no one buys it, and Blizz stops remakes.
Sure. Everyone is going to boycott this game because of female Death Knights.
Honest question: did your parents inbreed?
