I don’t think they took the prototypes or assets and just dumped them into the recycle bin.
They could if they’re given the development time and understand that there are people that want more tweaks to the editor, a ladder on release day, a more heavily revised additional singleplayer experience, and even Reign of Chaos multiplayer for the people that want it.
Not likely. I don’t think it was cut due to time constraints and choose to take what the devs said at face value. Also, said tweaks can all happen after launch. No point in delaying.
But there are still target audience who will be pissed of even if there will be two campaings - you’ve seen them yourself. And while they’re still there - No changes for Campaing…
They contracted and outsourced a studio to render all the models of their finalized designs so all they had to do was concept and animate them. They were clearly aware of the scale of the undertaking. They were also live patching the current game to try and help set things up for the release of Reforged and we all know what kind of a roller coaster that was between connection stability, matchmaking, and even balance changes that some people weren’t thrilled with.
They announced the game as well as roughly a one year turnaround from announcement to release.
I think it’s fair to speculate time was/is a significant factor.
Pure speculation. And since we are speculating here what do you speculate that they spent that whole year on where they didn’t have to even make the models? I think if it was simply a matter of time we would’ve got a delay announcement and not a content has been cut announcement. Because let’s be honest here. Blizz has never had an issue with delaying a product.
Just like “I don’t think it was cut due to time constraints and choose to take what the devs said at face value.” and МракоРыцарь’s comments about more development time resulting in nothing.
Exactly. So why should we expect them to stop that trend now?
Because if they gave a flying f@ck about what non purists think, they wouldn’t have cut content and more or less tried to assure the purist that their options were still there. Your optimism is just setting you up for disappointment.
Oh, no. We’re too late. These people have all been infected! They may look fine now, but it’s just a matter of time before they turn into the pessimistic!
Game needs changes - but we will never get them cause 2 of 3 parts of community are agressive towards any possible changes. Making something for us = pissef of them, and lose a lot of potential money and the audience Reforged was made for in the first place… - Warcraft III audience
If they update graphics - Pro’s will be pissed and refund
If they re-write the campaing - Purists will be pissed and refund
Hurry and perfection don’t match. Is better wait much more time and receive a perfect state than a rushed and unfinished state. Early Access can be a option to the release, if go with Early Access the game will be able with this format to get more time and give more upgrades and polishment!
I would agree if there were a chance to wait for something perfect - But there’s none. All good content was cut and will never back…So why do we must wait again? If we just will get the same graphics, cutscenes and classic campaing…
Yes, man! Is sad the content was cut, some things of the campaign, some cinematics, the terrain, the awesome graphics, the new UI… All that was cutted make us so sad
All that remains now is the new models, houses and effects, this are looking now like the same Old Warcraft 3 but just with a Re-skin.
But lets hope they change that decision and bring back all that content! That’s why I hope the Early Access format can bring us all that content back in the long term of time.
