that is a placeholder release date. the same type of release date was used for kingdom hearts 3.
How much did I told thisā¦ I will say again:
- Blizzard told they have stable āreleaseā build with all campaign, graphics and smooth running engine, but they has no reason to put it all in beta.
- This is DEBUG build of game (if you donāt know what is programming and what is debug build - please google difference between debug and release). Debug build binaries has more weight in megabytes, has lower performance but their crash dumps much more efficient to analyze, usually there are a lot data collection in debug build and a lot of stuff disabled. This is necessary because they need to test some features without visuals and other stuff to be sure it is working well.
- You might think this is final version of all. But you are wrong. This is beta for testing networking code and races. This is only for this purpose. As for me, software developer, this is very clear. I understand why they cut 90% of content and disabled a lot of visuals.
- All this bugs could be fixed by 3 weeks. When networking part will be done they just do final testing and release the game very soon. They working on this game at least 2 years, not 2-3 months, remember this. They has already done all their work, they just need to test network code.
- 31 of December is not a random date, this is deadline which didnāt changed even after blizzcon. They are all know what they are doing.
Just remember, approximate date of release is 20-24 or 26 of December 2019.

Just get them delay it by 2020 Blizzcon so everything is scratched and cleaned off the surface.
The only way you could be wrong is if they have a way more advanced build of the game locked away (for some reason) and they just gave us a very old and buggy version with the beta just to test matchmaking.

I would leap with joy if they delay the game, Iām not being facetious Iāll be ecstatic if they have another couple of months to not only fix the gameā¦ but

Yeah first they say āwe are scrapping some contentā so that people will refund the game, and then at the end of the year they change idea so that those who havenāt refunded yet will be upset. Hope you are not working in some marketing stuff.

Why would the lead artist quitting have any impact? The models are finished or conceptually put together already. The guy left because his role is done and now heās choosing to move on from the company.

After christmas/new year holidays they must start a PTR or pre season live, I love reforge but match making is full mess.
Find the first player in q even if itās a pure noob/new player.
Game is already almost finished,only 2 beta phases are left before the release date
Graphics are great! Theyāre gonna look like the Culling
Voices are great
Changes will be great
All we need to do is just wait and donāt hate this great game

Reforged IS great.Even through all of these purists the game is epic and perfect. I canāt wait for a new experience of the game!

If they donāt fix the fact that it is almost imposible to identify your units from the enemyās when you are in a big battle, all the pros will play classic graphics. I donāt think Wc3 will be successful if all the top players are playing the old graphics instead the new ones 
Maybe we all are wrong and they will come out with a crazy improved final version that we all will just love. I am hesitant at this point but letās seeā¦

First of all blizzard didnāt make The model so is not from The lead artist to do that. Second if the lead artist leave now that a lot of people are wait for The release something clearly is not right.
I dont think thereās too much job to be done.
Yes, the list of problems is long but im sure they are taking care of it.
4 races out? 80% of the job done
TBH, Artists choosing to stay or leave is usually on their own whim.
There are 3 bigger reasons to leave than āproject going southā worries that people seem to equate this to
- There are no other projects that the artist in the near-future that they are interested in
- They want a break from work after years of non-stop projects
- They want to pursue something different, either at another company or more focus on life etc.
If there were problems with the project, then thereās no reason why they would wait until all the models are finished before leaving. They would have left much earlier.
