I’ve been following the WC3 for a long time now, keeping up with the competitive scene and playing custom games, but have been put of from playing melee due to the connection limitations in Australia. I want to preorder Reforged, but I’d like to know if Oceanic servers will be a thing. Thank you for any assistance.
I wouldn’t hold your breath 
I can’t say anything for certain, but I know Blizzard is working to improve matchmaking and that they are considering the possibility of cross-realm play similar to custom games. Meaning, you can login to the Euro server and still find games with players from other servers. For now though, I think you might be better connecting to USwest?
What’s the point of saying “Oceania” instead of Australia? Stop pretending as if you care about the Solomon Islands or French Caledonia. You never do.
same with LATAM server, not happening. I can play on US West with 120 ping pretty good.
No I don’t think so, no servers can withstand attacks from the kangaroo, emu and koalas.

Doubt they’ll bring out Oceanic servers until reforged releases. Very disappointing though, it is impossible to play a game under 150 ping on battle.net for oceanic players.
Classic team, if you really care about the community, bring out oceanic servers! there’s a good portion of us still playing or at least trying with this ping!

Not even being able to host our own games means we’re stuck with USW
One step forward and two steps back 
I can understand why they don’t have AUS/NZ servers right now. The player base is fairly small so we just have to endure USW severs and 200+ ping for the time being.
That said, it would have been nice if we could host our own games as playing an RTS with a high ping is hard work and not all that enjoyable. Once reforged releases if they don’t add WC3 to their Oceania servers then it will never have a chance in this region which would be a shame.

Yea it’s like he hasn’t heard of the ANZAC’s lol. NZ and australia are close and both use OCE servers.

How about the Korean servers? The ping might not be as bad there.
It is pretty much identical to US-West. No real difference in ping…

Oceanic server, the same day we get a South American server, so never lol.
It would be nice to get an Oceania server. Since I live in NZ it is hard also to get a good ping… Blizzard sort this please…
Yep we do def. need one and for the other countries as well. It’s so hard to play and climb, so the only thing that keeps me driven is trying out new strats for the time being. I know and had to adapt to how “slow paced” WC 3 can be compared to say Heroes of the Storm and other games where they require constant clutches and speed, but with latency issues, it’s even slower and sometimes choppy on WC 3. It affects focus, mood and motivation at times that it affects the gameplay, even off-putting units you’d normally build to counter, but couldn’t be bothered because you feel like you’re moving so slow so you try to rush irrationally again to hamper enemies tech or expo.
I watch alot of matches on WC 3 and how intricate they move and body block and how smooth it is. I’m able to do that when there are moments of clarity when ping is low enough and the armies aren’t big, but beyond that, it becomes almost like a blur. In big epic fights, you try to follow your hero around but you can feel and see the 0.4 lag delay. As soon as you cast coil on one unit, then you try to look for another low hp that’s melted down, while the whole time, my 20 ping opponents switches focus firing to a different unit knowing I would heal the initial unit. At the same-time he can individually purge and debuff my units with say spell breakers, while I’m lucky enough that Destroyers got an aoe deboff, but even that’s hard to land when it obviously isn’t or shouldn’t be.
Now that reforged is out, it’s important to improve latency for serious/competitive gaming for WC 3. I absolutely understand that this wasn’t a brand new remake, but the skins, patches and a renewal of life at least calls for improving latency. Please Blizz, update us a region for me, Grubby and the rest of the other players needing help with latency improvements.
