Noob question about forming arranged teams

So I have a wireless netgear router. My friend grays out when I try to send them an arranged team invite. I’ve heard two things. One said I have to contact my service provider and ask them for a number or something. Another just said “need to forward the ports” but he’s used to a linksys router. help?

My advice is to better be patient and wait blizz to fix AT. It will be buggy and painful to play it anyway even if u manage to portforward and follow various advices on reddit.

  1. You need to forward the ports 6112 - 6119 for both UDP and TCP.
  2. You need to configure a static IP address.

Now you are able to host, but AT is bugged at the moment. You have to do the following:

  • Host invites teammate, host can select race, hangs for teammate. Sometimes the host wont be able to select race, in that case host will need to force start WC3 and start over
  • Teammate exits battle net
  • Teammate invites host, this will hang and not work. Host exits battle net
  • Host invites teammate, will work on this step

After completing the above steps once you can just invite your friend normally as long as both of you stay logged in. Queue times are usually fairly low (1-2 minutes).

Edit: It’s not buggy and painful at all. Played like 50 games of 2on2 in the last week and everything worked fine.

I sent a ticket Into blizz , they said it’s a know problem and might just have to wait until reforged is out !! This is not acceptable !!

I have also tried the steps you listed above . In step one , does the person accept invite or the host just lets it go 30 seconds ?

Wtf, really?! Thosy lazy ***** …

Yup I’ll post the reply when I get on my PC

The invited person always accepts, waits a few seconds, then alt + f4 and restart wc3. The person who is inviting can stay in Bnet (will get error message after the invited person alt + f4 - just click ok)

Thank you very much, this worked for my teammate and me!

It’s a pity, that you need a workaround like that and that it’s not promoted and offered as official solution by blizzard. Was lucky to find that answer.

Thank you guys for your useful replies. I will try this with my buddy later.

So basically host and teammate just have to invite each other until AT will work?
I ve been trying this with my friend and it wont work, only hangs all the time. Any tips on what we may be doing wrong?

Did you forward your ports correctly and do you have a static IP(v4)?

Apparently I did not. Is there a HowTo on that? Maybe someone has a good one, Im gonna google it anyways, thank you!

It depends on your router. You’ll need to google it.
